Whirlpool Duet GHW9100L pours water out of the soap dispenser dra

Machine was fine until today, now as water starts to run at beginning of fill cycle within about 10-15 seconds flood of clear water leaks out under soap dispenser drawer. Water seems to drain slowly from area. Is this a plugged hose from dispenser to tub or is water supposed to enter at a slower rate to dispribute soap, bleach, softener , etc, at a slower rate?

I have the exact same problem. Had service out about 4 mos ago and they said there was a sock stuck somewhere in that area. I am now again having the problem and waiting service to come out again. Not very impressed with Whirlpool Duets.

Both comments correct, I wondered where that sock had gone! At least the machine is now functioning! Thanks to all!

Probable cause is there is an article of clothing that is stuck between the outer and inner tubs, in the area where the dispenser water and detergent enter the machine. you can run your hand around the rubber boot and you might be able to remove the article, it will be in the upper left part of the machine. if nothing can be found than you have a plugged up dispenser hose.

I own a whirlpool duet ghw9100 lw1 and i have two problems...fabric softener wont dispense and the drum fills and overfows with water on occasion

The overfilling problem is due to the water valve allowing water to slowly seep into the machine when not in use. You simply need to replace the water valve. The first thing to do for the fabric softener is to clean the dispenser. Failing that you can remove the top of the machine to observe the correct movement of the zone valve for the dispenser.

Leaking soap dispenser

There should not be suds up that high in the washer. You are experiencing a over sudsing condition and spin is throwing up throw the fill line in the dispenser. Run some fabric softener in a load with no clothes to clean out any hidden suds. Then use only HE (High efficiency) detergent and half of what they recommend! The softer the water the less the soap you use. Sounds like you may be using non HE detergent. My guess if the machine is fine.

Fabric softener dispensing before wash begins

I was having the same problem. Repair man replaced VALVE AW
He told me it is from the sedement in your water. If you have a water softner, it may not be the problem, unless it is not working properly. Sounds strange, but problem is fixed.

Water overflowing from dispenser, no error codes

check the holes of the dispenser, could be clogged with soap and liquid detergent. check the hose where the dispenser flows to the drum, it could be clogged also. open the door, trace the dispenser hose that is attached to the drum or to the big rubber gasket at the front. check and see if there is dirt accumulation or soap clogging the hole.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Fabric softener leaks out at beginning of wash

I have a 9200SQ Whirlpool duet.  It might be similar.  I think the bleach and fabric dispensers work on the siphon principal--once the level gets above a certain point they will then siphon out until almost nothing is left.  They should not start to siphon until extra water is directed into them during the correct cycle.   It is possible that they are starting to siphon early because 1. the washer is not level, 2. water is being added to the dispenser during the wrong cycle 3.  You put too much liquid into the dispenser and it started the siphon.
Note:  You should not peek in the dispenser during the washer cycles because it might interrupt the "siphon"action and leave residual bleach or fabric softener in the dispensers.
