Question about Nokia N95 Cellular Phone

I need to locate where is my stolen cellular phone through GPS

Hi. A few days ago I lost my cellular phone. I need to know where I can find it through any telecommunications way: the IMEI or through its advanced GPS built in. The device is a Nokia N96. I don't know why the telecommunication operator says they can not bring the service to locate the device using the transmissions through their antenna cells network. So I need to know who can give me the location service through the GPS built in. The cellular phone is somewhere place in Lima, Peru, South America. I live there. The device IMEI number is: 356776020225525 and I am sure someone is using it, I mean, the device is turned on. I would like to know if this IMEI could be changed for someone who could find the device and doesn't want to return it to me. Thanks in advance. Your phone can be located by triangulating the signal, in my country, only police have the jurisdiction to track phones. However this is not normal practice for something as trivial as a small theft.

The GPS device in the phone is only active on demand, meaning its not turned on unless the GPS software is started on the phone itself.

The IMEI number can be changed using a computer.

Try videocalling your phone, see if the thief answers =)

In the future you might want to install a security software pack on your S60 device, this locks the phone after a sim change, you can lock your phone by sending sms to it, set off alarms, etc.

Hi im sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately i was very busy. If your phone is stolen and if your ohone was with a carrier like Rogers (Canada) or Airtel (India) , you will have to contact them to put a LOST/STOLEN block on the phone if it was a post paid phone.

Hey i lost my mobile. how can i find it. please help me

Unless you had a smartphone with a program installed that can do remote tracking, you will not be able to locate your phone using its GPS. Here are some other steps you can try:

- Call your phone and leave a voicemail requesting its return, giving some contact info where you can be reached, and possibly offering a reward. (You may also hear it ringing if its nearby! If you don't have another phone, try placing the call cheaply over the web through Google Voice or Skype)
- Send a text message with the same information.
- Report your phone lost to your carrier and ask that they suspend service until you get another phone. This way, it cannot be used, if your carrier notices it being activated on another line, they will know it is stolen and not allow the activation.
- Post a "lost item" poster in the area where it was lost, or use other methods to notify people that the phone is yours. Some people are nice, and if you are lucky, it may be returned.

If this helped you, help me by giving a few thumbs up!

My mobile is stolen.last night .can i find my mobile location by imei no .imei no is 356283015477161

Hi, there is no way to find your phone. Your service provider (mobile operator) could help identifing the user if the phone is in use with the same operator.

One more thing that you can do is to submit your stolen phone in http://www.stolen-phone.com and hope that somebody will see it and return you your device.

I have lost my cell phone

Sir, where have you lost it. In the house or stolen. If it is stolen, then contact the service provider, they will track it down for you. But if it is lost in the house then get any other phone and call the lost phone. It will ring alerting you about its location. Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.

My phone was stolen ,how can i block it

Hi,

Nokia is not blocking/blacklisting phones anywhere. Only the network operators can do it, and when they do it, they probably won't until you have first reported it as stolen to the local police (and possibly an your insurance company).

Thanks.

My handset was stolen i want back

The only person who can view your phone's location is the carrier that you use. Even then, it's still a slim chance that they can, even if they comply. Report it as stolen to the police. Inform them that your phone has GPS capability and that you can provide details to the cellular company.

It's likely that you'll have to give up pursuit and just buy a new phone though :(.

BLOCK STOLEN MOBILE USING IMEI NO.

Hi there.
Phone your service provider, tell them its been stolen, if its being used they will send a text to that phone which will disable it from being able to be used. As for tracking it has to have GPS installed in the original software.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!
