Hi and welcome to FixYa,

I am assuming that you are referring to the pins of the slots. If you would install an insulator such as a plastic card, it would separate the pins preventing the short. If you need that slot, installing the a PCI card would also separate the pins. If however the pi(s) have been pressed down and crumpled at the bottom of the slot, the only option is to use a tweezer and pull the erring pin out which of course would render that slot useless.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

How do I hook it up to my computer?

To connect your MP3 player to your computer, you need a USB cord that hooks into a slot on the music player then you take the other end of the cord and place it in the USB slot of your desktop computer or laptop.

Upgrading computer.

If you are going to order it shop around online. I have no idea where you can get one there but i have an Acer and I love it. It has so many options that come standard, like HDMI and optic outputs.
here is the link for the main page.

Mp3 player is changing the order of my tracks

it may be set to shuffle/random mode which may be altering the sequence....or it may be getting sorted name/size wise....check for the shuffle/random thing first....if that is not the case then change your track names to sequenced numbers1,2,3, on....your roblem should be rectified by either of the two methods

Can't down load music on iPod Nano 3rd gen. after it was washed

Hi Debbie,

There's two things you can do to rectify this.
  1. Using a facial tissue or paper kitchen towel wet it a little fold it and using a blunt ended knife rub the tissue over the contacts of the USB port of the iPod.
  2. Failing that the only thing you can do is take it to a repair specialist. I would offer but I am in the UK so better to find someone more local to you.
All the best and hope you get it sorted simply.

Be sure to try all the USB ports on your computer. The player will use all 500 milliamps that a USB port can provide to charge its battery. In most cases the back ports will provide all 500 milliamps to the player so try that. If you're using a USB hub then make sure you're connecting the player directly to the back of the computer instead.
If that doesn't work then take them back for a replacement or contact Digital Blue customer service for warranty replacement.

Sorting... sorting...

If the player allows you to add music on it via USB as a Removable Disk, then copy all the music off the player onto your computer and then format the MP3 player by right clicking it in "My Computer" and going to "Format...". Start it up without music and see how it goes, if it doesn't turn itself off, fill it with a little bit of music, then a little more until you either put your music back on, or until it screws up again. Good luck!
