Drier does not heat up.

I have a kenmore stacked washer drier electric. Everything works except the drier does not get the hot air/heat. I opened the back. The heating element seems to be okay, it is not burnt or broken.

I opened the middle piece and found the gas line coming in. I noticed a lever on the gas line the rotates 90 degrees. Which direction should the lever be in for gas to make it through the line? Is this my problem why I cannot get the dryer to heat up?:

Dryer spins, but doesnt heat up. I cleaned out the lint trap and asked maintenance to unclogg the filter if needed, but still no difference. How can I get my dryer to heat up and where would I order the part from if needed?

There is a white fuse (sometimes called a limit) in the back of the unit. It is about 1/2" wide and about 2" long and it has connected by two clips and terminals. Replace this and you should have heat. It usually blows when there is too high of a build-up of lint in the unit. Before you put it back together, clean all the lint out of it including behind the lint trap.

In order to test the element, you will need an ohm meter. It should test at 8 - 12 ohms. If it is not the element, it could be any of you other thermostats, here's a rundown: thermal fuse. It is white and about an inch and a half long and had two wires going into it. Thermal cuttoffs, one is right next to the element, and the other is further above the element. If one of these is bad, you will need to replace them both. the last is the thermostat with heat anticipator. this thermostat will have four wires going into it and is located right next to your thermal fuse. To test any of these thermostats unplug the wires leading to them and test each lead with your ohm meter, if you have steady numbers or 'countdown' it is fine, move on to the next. once you reach one that reads 'ol' or 'open line' that is the thermostat that is bad. Good luck and happy fixin'!

Dryer not heating

Check Heating elements if ok check the in line fuse that go to drying element and if it open replace it and clean filter and check pipe that blow out side make sure it not stop up because if in line fuse is open stop up filter and pipe that blow air out side will cause the heating element in fuse to open up. And check for lose wire going to element to.

Kenmore Stackable washer/dryer Model #11088752793, won't heat

Hi,
Either the elements have blown, or it could be a device called a thermal overload which has popped. (There may also be a loose wire which connects to the heating elements). Have your drier checked out by a good handyman or technician.
Best wishes,

Washer works fine dryer does nothig

Looks like my Maytag. My dryer belt is broken so doesn't tumble. Check by taking two screws out of tilted panel and look at belt. If it isn't heating probably heat coil. If nothing probably electrical. Maybe door switch is open circuited.

Whrilpool washer/dryer stack the dryer doesn't get hot

You will find that the drier wont get hot because the timer is not forwarding onto the heating part of the cycle. Possibly if you click one click at a time, you will possibly get to the heating part of the cycle but its not safe as it wont go any further. Install a new timer and you will be happier I'm sure.

Maytag Neptune W/D (Stacked) Drying Irregularly

Mj, 90% of the time long dry times are caused by a pinched or clogged vent. Other things that could be causing this are: cycling thermostat trips too soon, if your dryer is a gas model, weak gas valve coils, drive motor centrifugal switch not allowing voltage to the gas valve or heating element. Check the harness to the motor to make sure it is on tight. Catriver...post back.
