I have windows media player 9. recently is has some problems regarding sound because by mistake i deleted from the control panel sound device on my laptop. sonow songs are not playing. PLEASE HELP

Try to find that same file online and available for download. Download it to EXACTLY where you deleted it from, and then It should work. Also, you probably shouldn't go through files such as that. You may cause a critical system error and irreparably damage your computer.

Won't turn on, windows recovery screen appears

whatever you have deleted recently wasnt supposed to be deleted. You may have to re-install your windows. especially if everytime you enter for it to fix and it sends you back to the same screen. It sounds like on of your system ffiles specifically a boot file was accidently deleted. unfortunately a reinstall may be needed. but if you reinstall windows on the same partition it will save all your files in a folder called windows.old and you should be able to go into that folder and get your files after a fresh install of windows

You can download the audio driver compatible to Windows XP from the link given below:

Please download and install the audio driver in the order (older to latest) of their release.

Lost sound device, after deleting old files we relized we had lost our sound device

you need to go to Control Panel - system - Device Manager. There you will be able to find the drive that runs your 'sound card device'. click on that and it should indicate if this device is working properly or not and have a button to click on for fixing. If that doesnt work, try another simple route and if your computer has this setting....go to 'system restore point' and set it back a few days, or a week. check for sound, then carefully recheck the old files you want to delete. Double check the file you want to delete for it may support your sound card and may not work without certain programs. Hope this helped!!!

No sound from laptop not even system sounds

Hi der... Well it culd be ur sound card which having some problems. Or it can be the system sounds which are missing, or can be the drivers issue

Rectify

1. Sound Card - Check if your sound card is damaged with a pc vendor.
2. Your system sounds files can be missing due to accidental deletion of files. You can always restore them back.
3.The sound drivers could also be a problem, Update the driver in the relevant pc website.

Before you can do all this a simple diagnostic, you can try reformatting your whole pc before bringing down for a check on sound card. In this way the factory default are restored including ur system sound. WARNING: All your files will be deleted when u do this process. Make sure you back up important files before reformatting.

The sound is cutting in and out and the system runs much slower

I'm assuming you are running XP. Here are some things to try:
1. In your web browser (Internet explorer) click on the 'tools' menu
2. click on 'Internet Options'
3. Under browser history click on 'delete'
4. The first 2 options are to delete temporary files and delete cookies. Do those two things.
5. Reboot
6. 'Start' 'All programs' 'accessories' 'system tools' 'defrag' and run the defrag program.
7. reboot.
8. Virus scan all files on your computer.
9. Reboot.
I will be notified if you post any problems with the above. Your computer should run faster.

Hidden folder are not visible

Process are not hidden files but a file that is being runned by windows. Antivirus can't delete a process because Windows is using the file. Did Avast detect the process as a danger? If not then don't worry about them.

If your sound icon isn't in the tasbar tray. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Sound. Here should have check box for volume control icon. Check the box if its uncheck to get the volume icon.

Hope this helps.
