I have the same problem on DV2000 laptop. Turned it off at night and next day it would not turn on again. Per HP, I made sure memory was well seated, tried each battery separately, tried only AC, tried a new hard drive, tried CD; tried external monitor, still....nothing but blue light around AC and power lights but no action. Apparently this occurs often with DV2000 and DV6000 but I have yet to see solution. HP said take it to Best Buy!!

This sounds like a known problem with these computers. HP is repairing them under a special warranty extension, but apparently not all of their tech support people are aware. Follow this link and read all about it. If you think your situation is covered, then call the special HP phone number and see if they agree. Good luck!

Lenovo laptop shut down and will not turn on. Tried removing all power and holding down power button but didn't work. When I press power button the te button lights up for a few seconds then goes out. ...

disconnect the adapter +battery HOLD THE POWER button by 30 seconds aprox, this trick is by eliminate all ESD.
Try again connecting the adpater +battery, if work is o.k
If the problem persist, connect only the adapt and see if the computer work, if does , connect the battery, if work is o.k .if doesnot.
The battery is faulty, RUN the software diagnostic with the adapter and see what going on inside of computer, the power supply inside can be faulty or the battery.

As a last trick, open the battery take out the small battery for CMOS, by 20 seconds. And turn on the computer can be TURN on.

God bless you

Computer is not working

The computer may be in hibernate or standby. Try pressing the space bar, and then wait a moment. See if anything happens. If nothing happens, press the power button for one second and wait a moment and see if anything happens. If nothing occurs, you may need to force a restart.

To force a restart, hold in the power button for approximately 15-20 seconds, this should force the computer to turn off all the way. If holding the power button doesn't do the trick - you can unplug the computer from the wall and take out the laptop battery as a last resort.

Once you are sure the computer is off all the way, press the power button and see if anything at all shows on the screen. If you are not able to see any information on the screen, it is possible that the Laptops screen has gone bad. If you have an external monitor you can try to plug into it and see if anything shows. If nothing shows, it is possible the video card/motherboard is gone bad.

To fully diagnose a bad motherboard or video card - you would need to take it to a qualified computer technician.

I just went though airport security, but now my screen is too dark to work with. I have tried taking out the batterie, and I have restarted my computer a few times. It was working fine this morning.

Airport security probably turned off your screen's backlight. On my Acer Aspire One Netbook it is turned on/off by pressing Fn key and while holding it, pressing F6.

No power up

Hello Vincezo:

Try this trick...remove battery...unlplug from wall...hold the power button on and then plug into the wall.

Let me know if this works for you. If not you may be looking at a hardware failure (mainboard).

Good Luck my friend.
