Question about HP Compaq nx6110 PC Laptop
I downloaded Internet Explorer 7 on my laptop (The microsoft website said that I had to have it in order to get updates for Windows XP~ I also use Mozilla Firefox) and when I went to restart my computer it would not come back on. I have tested the AC adaptor so I know that it is not a power problem. I was on it earlier today and it was working fine. I didnt have this problem until I downloaded IE and now I cant even get my computer to turn back on to try and fix it. When I hit the power button, the computer does try to come on and then dies again. Please Help!
If it cause from power follow joshypants instructio, if it comes from ie7 you restart and when the post screen appear press f8(quickly) and choose safe mode perform system restore.

Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) browser includes "add-on" applications that can be downloaded and installed from Microsoft, or third-party providers, into Internet Explorer.
Occasionally, add-ons may conflict with other add-ons or software on the computer, causing errors.
These can also occur when IE settings conflict with newly installed add-ons.
Resolve add-on related error conditions quickly in IE8 by resetting Internet Explorer to Microsoft defaults.
Click the "Start" button. Click "Run" or "Search," and type "inetcpl.cpl in the "Run" or "Search" box, and press the "Enter" key.
Select the "Advanced" tab in the "Internet Options" window, then click the "Reset" button.
Click the "Reset" button again to confirm that you wish to reset Internet Explorer to Microsoft defaults.
Select the "Close" button, once the display indicates that the reset process has been completed.
Click the red "X" in the upper-right corner of Internet Explorer to close the browser.
Open Internet Explorer and the errors should be resolved.
Experience problems with Internet Explorer 7 right off the bat, and it may be due to installation problems.
Make sure you reboot twice after installing the new browser.
Download any updates for IE7.
Check the Microsoft website for recommended updates if you don't have automatic updates turned on for your computer.
Check your add-ons, those "extras" like ActiveX controls for your browser, if you still experience problems.
After accessing "manage add-ons" through the "Tools" menu in your browser window, disable all add-ons, and try browsing.
If you can successfully browse without errors on the page, then one of your add-ons may be the culprit. Enable add-ons one at a time and try browsing.
Once you find the problem, delete it or update the add-on to work with Internet Explorer 7.
Contact Microsoft if a website denies permission for entering when it shouldn't.
It could be a problem with document. domain property or the protocols of the URLs not matching.
Adjust security settings in the browser if you still experience page error messages.
Select the "Tools" menu and access "Internet Options." Under the "Security" tab, choose "Custom Level" to pull up the security settings window and review for possible problems.
Hope this helps

TO LATEST VERSION OF INTERNET EXPLORER WITH WINDOWS 7
If you have Automatic Updates
enabled, once you are connected to the internet, your computer will automatically
download the very latest version of Internet Explorer (this is currently IE9) to your computer during
one of the early Automatic Updates downloads and will continue to automatically upgrade it as
new versions are launched in future.
You can also go to the official Microsoft IE Downloads
and Support website and manually download and install your chosen version of Internet Explorer from there
I hope this helps.
