• If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote.
• Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.
This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device.

I'm wondering if the original question "How to program my lg magic remote with my dish tv box" was ever answered, and if the problem was eventually identified and resolved. (none of the answers above seem to be solutions).
I have the same problem - unable to control my Dish receiver (VIP722K) with my new LG Magic Remote - and LG support wasn't able to help. Is this a known compatibility issue?

Try the RCA codes listed in the code book that came with your Dish remote. You will want to use the "AUX" button at the top of the dish remote. You will likely NOT get full functionality if it works at all, however, there is a chance you'll be able to change the channels and power the converter box on and off.
If the codes you have are segregated into categories of different devices, i.e. TVs, DVD players, etc. You probably will not be successful.
Also, there should be instructions in the remote manual that will tell you how to search all codes that are stored in the Dish remote.
While this may not solve your problem, I hope I've given you helpful information that will allow you to make an informed decision as to where to go from here.

Hi there my name is Kimberly Escobar with DISH Network Customer Support. I understand you need the codes to program a DISH Network remote model 3.0 to an LG T.V. Some of the codes we have are 678, 506, 520,123, 000, 512, and 213. To integrate the code into the remote you would need to press and hold the clear T.V button at the top until all the other top buttons light up in red, then once you see them light up you would need to enter one of your codes followed by the pound key (#) for example if you choose code 678 it would be 678#. After you press pound the T.V button will flash in red 3 times after that try the remote and make sure it functions with your T.V. I hope this is helpful to you.
