When I turn on my laptop, after a few minutes (or occasionally right away, even on the start-up screens) it will make a weird clicking noise and then freeze.
I even tried reformating my computer, which didn't help (and during a few times, the computer even did the click noise and froze when it was in the re-activation process), and the problem still persisted.
Laptops have very few moving parts. Your problem is more than likely either a fan or your hard drive. Remove the hard drive, start the computer up and just let it run for awhile. If the clicking noise never comes up then thats your problem. If it does, its probably a fan.
Disregard anything on the screen itself, just let the PC run. It sounds like after the hard drive has been spinning for a minute a motor starts to die.

These two tips are found to be very helpful to fix the laptop shutdown problem. Almost all the computer users surf internet which could result in viruses attacking your system. Some of these infections are really pesky and cause the machines to shutdown randomly.
The registry errors, however, are the internal errors and can become a cause of system crashes and freezes. The registry keys shall be in good health to keep a system perfect.
When I noticed my laptop keeps shutting down everytime, I tested the Intel Software Partner, RegInOut to fix the random shutdown problem with my laptop.

You have to check 2 options: 1.Try
to clean up any air inlets - outlets using a brush. In case it's
available use air under pressure to throw away the dust from the
ventilation grids, but after this leave the laptop to calm for some
minutes. Avoid closing the ventilation grids with any objects (especialy
blunkets etc when in bed) 2.Update the VGA drivers. Right click on my computer - click on properties - choose the hardware tab - click on device manager - click on the + before the VGA adapter line - right click on the devise that will expand - click on update device driver - choose auto intallation - click on next - in case of an question about the source choose internet update.
