you may have received a USB cable alongwith the camcoder, look for a slot on the camcoder to connect the cable and the other end on the USB port of your laptop:)
you can visit Nehru Place to buy a new battery for your camcoder
If the camcorder will power up with the charger plugged in, it is most likely the battery. Depending on use, rechargeable batteries can go out in as little as 6 months.
There are two types of storage i camcoder. If it is hard disk Just connect your camcoder with USB to computer. In mycomputer you can see the disk of the camcoder as a new drive there. If storage is DVD you have to burn it inorderd to copy it to computer. If you are using a memory card you can remove it form the camcoder and using a card reader you can transfer video to computer.
I don't know where you are reading that it can work as a web cam. If it doesn't mention it in the documentation that came with your camera then it can't.
If you are referring to the YouTube upload feature, that did not mean "live", You record the video first, then upload it with the included software.
I work on this model of samsung the lcd problem is a common thing with this camera
The ribbon cable to the lcd from the camera cracks and causes what you are talking about .
Normally the camera will still work buy using the eye viewfinder for recording and playback but you will not hear the sound unless the lcd door is open but then the picture in the viewfinder goes away when this door is open and comes back when it is closed
my email is [email protected] and sell on ebay as uromastyx
I had the same problem. Called Samsung, they told me not to use DVD+R DL discs (despite their presence in the compatibility table in the manual). They also said DVD+R discs don't need finalizing, which contradicts the manual. I can't get them to play in my PC.
For the first two discs I tried, it seemed to get write errors halfway through the disc, as if it had trouble with the second layer. I didn't record long enough on the third to find out. The camcorder still shows video on the third disc, but I can't finalize it and it won't play on my PC.
Glad I'm only borrowing this camera. Won't buy a Samsung, and probably won't buy a DVD cam.
