Interior ring deteriorating

The plastic that is attached to the stainless interior is deteriorating....the pump was clogged which caused the machine to not drian. The repair man showed me all the stuff, looks like sand, that was in the drain tube and pump. It's cleaned and working but now makes a ton of noise and I noticed the deterioration of this plastic part....that is the sand like substance. Every time it spins it is tearing up this plastic.

I suspect it's the aluminum spider arm that spins the back of the tub. The moist environment and the ionizing laundry detergent causes a chemical reaction that corrodes this easily and it breaks. It is covered under a lifetime warranty, so call Whirlpool and ask them to send the whole tub unit (the spider arm is attached via machineshop). You will need c-clip pliars to DIY or have a serviceman install it, and be sure to label the clips for when you put them back. This happened to us. The seal is part of the tub unit. Good luck!

SOURCE: Whirpool lsq9244eqo fills and drains but does not spin or agitate

It sounds like the agitator gripping teeth are worn out. To check this, take the agitator cap off with a strong knife or flat-head screw driver, pull the cap off and check the plastice teeth and four plastic hooks that grab the teeth. If they are worn out, then you will have to replace the agitator. To replace it, you will see a nut that is between the circlular teeth. Unscrew the nut and pull the agitator up hard.

really sounds like a coupler issue. May look fine but if one of the teeth are busted it will do this. You can get a tutorial for fixing this here. http://www.shop.washermd.com/category.sc?categoryId=4

The turntable makes a scraping noise when it turns. How can I fix that?

Turntable is generally driven by the hub in the centre but supported by a plastic ring fitted with small rollers that run in a channel.

A scraping noise is generally caused by particles of food falling into the channel and/or damage to the plastic ring or rollers.

For microwaves with a painted interior, the channel sometimes becomes pitted and rusty when the painted surface is worn through.

Well not start without easy start if turned off for more than 10 mins

If it the pre 651 engine then this will apply you will have a high pressure fuel pump mounted on the front of the cylinder head, The plastic fuel pipes that feed this pump have " o" rings that deteriorate and let in air causing poor start, The answer is new plastic fuel pipes between the fuel filter and high pressure pump.

My 1999 audi a4 2.8 quattro has damage (mainly scratch marks) on the interior door handles. Is there a fast, and or cheap, was of fixing these handles?

Oils in our skin and a combination with sunlight interact and deteriorate the plastic. Maybe try buffing and armorall.

What causes the ring in the multiport valve to rust?

Please clarify the part. Is this in reference the metal ring under the handle spring? this component is stainless, so if you are seeing some deterioration, this is primarily caused by water imbalance or higher than normal levels of acidic or oxidation products. Check your pH, Hardness and Cyanuric Acid levels. pH should be between 7.2.and 7.8, Hardness should be between 250-500 ppm, CYA should be no more than 80 ppm.

Our Jenn-Air built-in microwave in the kitchen appears to have had a bead of white silicone that sealed the interior cabinet walls and interior base. That has deteriorated away. Is it just cosmetic or...

Silicone will not block microwave radiation. However, it isn't only cosmetic. The silicone keeps liquid that spills inside your microwave (or even steam) from getting into the guts of your microwave and rusting and causing shorts.

Yes, you'll need to replace the motor. Though you may not need to remove the machine from under the counter.
