Check to see that the drain tube going from the evaporator down to the bottom of the cabinet to the drain pan is clear and not plugged. Also check your thermostat. Make sure it is not set too cold. cabinet temp should not go below 34 deg's. Hopefuly this will help.

How can i turn off the water function on the door but not the ice, the water line keeps leaking on the back of the frig

When I had this problem the water was coming from the top right rear where the water tube feeds the ice maker. The water line INSIDE the frig that feeds the ice maker occasionally freezes up causing an obstruction which causes the water to leak out the rear. This can only happen when the icemaker activates the water feed. You can remove the tube fitting without fear because the valve that feeds water through the line is at the bottom rear of the unit. If the line is frozen inside I remove the ice bin and tray and use a hair dryer to melt the ice.
I have a similar problem with the condenser fan making a tapping/clacking noise which is also a result of ice building up on that. Wish I had a different frig but for now the hair dryer will have to do.

Water at bottome of refrigerator

Under the draws in the back, there should be a drain hole that drains water down to the drain pan under the unit. Check to make sure it's not blocked with food or frozen water.

Will not dispense ice or water, beeps when lever is pushed, no interior light in frig part. both frig and freezer work, freezer light works

Your inlet tube that goes to the icemaker may be frozen. To Check: Shut off water supply to Fridge, disconnect the water line that goes to the icemaker at top back. Use a flexible item to insert in the water line connection. I used a zip tie. If the flexible item won't all the through to the ice maker, the line is frozen. Thaw out the tube from inside the freezer with a hair dryer. Re-connect everything, you now have ice . . . Solution #2: You may have to replace your "Water Inlet Valve" located at bottom right rear of Fridge. Easy to do, just follow the color codes, be sure and shut off the water.

There seems to be water accumulating on the top shelf of our fridge. items on the top shelf get wet and the water also ends up dripping on the floor after awhile. we have not got the ice maker hooked up

YOUR DEFROST DRAIN IS EITHER CLOGGED WITH ICE OR GUNK, YOU CAN UNPLUG AND DEFROST, THE ICE THIS TAKES SOME TIME. AS THE OPENING FOR THE DRAIN IS IN THE CENTER BACK BELOW THE EVAPORATOR. AND THE ICE MAY BE FROZEN FOR 5-6 INCHES INSIDE DRAIN. YOU WILL SEE WATER DRAINING INTO THE PAN ON TOP OF COMPRESSOR WHEN AND IF DRAIN IS CLEAR. IF NOT ICE THEN TRACE DRAIN FOR BLOCKAGE. SOME FRIGS HAVE A SMALL PIECE OF PLASTIC AT BACK OF FRIG THAT PULLS OUT AND HAS VERTICAL SLOTS TO KEEP OUT DEBRIS, THAT WOULD BE WHERE GUNK WOULD BE.

I have a JCD 2289 AE side by side. The freezer has water at the bottom rear that has frozen. How do I turn off the freezer and not the refigerator to defrost it and what could the cause be for the water

Just unplug the frig and open the freezer and let it defrost. Put the frozen items in the frig to keep them cold. Keep the frig closed if possible. You can assist the defrosting by blowing a window fan into the freezer. The room temp will defrost it quickly, or set a blow dryer on LOW and direct toward ice. Careful don't take the chance and turn that dryer on heat. And DO NOT CHIP ICE with a sharp object (patience is free). You may need to physically remove the water as the ice melts. - The source of the ice is probably condensation, or if it happens very quickly, there may be a ice maker leak. Once defrosted replace the frozen items and watch for cause of ice.

Leaking water

test: first, turn off water supply to frig. then dry up all water. then ensure frig is running at right temperature. now gradually turn on water and observe where leak is. My guess is it is overflowing the ice-maker. there is an adjustment for this. pop off the cover over the end of the ice-maker. look for a screw adjustment. turn it counterclockwise.
