Question about Gestetner DSm515pfd Digital Copier - Printer - Scanner - Fax

Copier will not load toner

Get an "out of toner" meessage. I put in a new cartridge, it says "loading toner", but after a few minurtes again it says "out of toner"

    There is no pull tab or tape. It is a twist-off cap, and I did exactly as the directions stated. I have done it many times before, and never had this problem. When it happened this time, I tried another bottle and the same thing happened. Plus, the first bottle I removed was considerably lighter than the new ones I tried, so I know they are full.

Did you install a new toner bottle? If so did you remove the pull tab or tape that seals the toner from spilling out. If it is a new toner that you know of, do you have another to install. It may be a defective toner. From what you explaining it sounds like there is no toner in the developing unit. Try antother toner first...

Toner wont load


there are only a few things you can try, and it sounds like you've done most of them. If the steps in the document linked below didn't help, then you could do a physical printhead cleaning. Bob_Headrick gave the steps for doing that in the post linked below. If none of that is working, you can either replace the printhead by contacting HP tech support, or you will need to replace the printer. HP Printer Support

Trying to replace toner in a savin 9922dp. install the toner cartridge, copier runs like it is loading the toner but then the error message to replace toner appears again (over and over)


take the toner out - whilst the green handle is up (this will get your hands dirty) feel inside for a left over cap from a previous toner. remove it and put your new toner in. this should sort it

Put new toner cartridge in my Pc170. now all copies come out black.


Seems you have a problem with your toner cartridge, already tried to try anothercartridge?
There seems to be a short circuit in the load image.

I have a Ricoh Aficio 1013F that has a about 65000 copy count. I replaced the drum/imaging unit a few months ago. recently, we stupidly let the machine run a week or so while it was calling for a toner...


I think you will have to reset it ..and the procedure to follow is this..
take it slow and be sure it is the correct one ..If it seam not to work try again ..
Press "clear mode" key then enter107 then press and hold down "clear/stop" key, touch on screen for "copy" then press 5992 hit enter, touch 0 to print out the standard setting list, turn off the copier when you finish.

take the toner supply unit out. toner supply unit is one where toner bottle fits and vacummed clean the unit. the toner unit is blocked. i am a Ricoh technician.

My Ricoh CL7000 keeps asking to replace the yellow toner, which I have done and it goes through the motions of loading the toner then the error message comes back again - asking to replace the yellow...


The toner cartridges for the CL7000 have microchips embedded in them, so the machine knows if it's not a new cartridge. Was the cartridge you put in brand new? (And was it a genuine Ricoh cartridge?)

On those printers, the toner is pumped into a developer system and mixed with the developer before making the image. In the developer unit, the density is checked, so if it's not seeing the right mix there, one of three common problems could be causing this.

The more likely solution is to replace the yellow developer unit, which comes as a whole unit and just slides right in. That will reset your density levels and should correct the "load toner" error.

There is a spring and cushion mechanism that the toner cartridge sits on -- this mechanism can easily be popped out of place and cause problems loading the toner. Take out the yellow toner as well as one of the other colors, and see if the little black circular piece is sitting the same way for both colors. If not, just pop it back into place, using the second color as a guide.

The other likely possibility is that the yellow toner supply tube is clogged, but that doesn't happen very often. To test if it's clogged, take out the yellow toner cartridge and the yellow developer unit and turn the copier off. Use a vacuum to provide suction at one end of the tube (the toner end will be easier) and put your finger on the other end (the developer end) and see if you feel the vacuum's suction. If not, there is probably a clog somewhere in the line.

If there is no clog and you can feel the suction, you may have a bad toner supply motor.

As a side note, if you find the problem and fix it, you might still have to put a new yellow toner cartridge in to get the machine running because it will think the cartridge you already tried is empty.

Toner cartridge not loading


Cheat the front door interlock and watch the toner bottle to see if it is turning. If not, could be a bad toner drive motor/drive assembly. Otherwise, remove and disassemble the toner hopper and clean it up. Make sure the four clear 'scooper' tabs are attached on the back of the receptacle that fits around the top of the toner bottle. Otherwise, just purchase a new toner hopper, they are cheap.

Studio 230 added a new toner cartridge


When adding toner to the developer unit, it will load from the toner. So, if toner is empty, it will ask for replacement. Normally u can hear noise from the toner when loading.

Problem with aficio 1035


The developer should probably be changed in it. the cartridge should be inspected as well. Was there any toner spills?

Toner low signal


Try turning your copier off & back on. Allow the machine to cycle after turning it back on - until it comes to ready or displays add toner signal again. You can try this three or four times as it sometimes takes the machine a few trys to advance the new toner to the toner sensor. If after 4 attempts you are still getting the add toner message - you may have a dirty or faulty toner sensor. The toner sensor is located inside the developing unit that you are loading toner into. Toner sensor is usually located on the bottom of the developing assembly & is held in by 2 scews. It can be cleaned with a dry cotton rag & reinstalled. 90% of the time power cycling the copier a few times will solve this problem.
