Most Linksys routers works between 5V to 12V, If older versions 5V is safest. However if you provide exact model of the device we can provide information accordingly

How can I get the router IP of my Linksys 2.4GHz broadband router?

The Linksys G router gives you both wired and wireless connections over a broadband Internet connect to create a local area network. The Linksys router is compatible with wireless G and B devices, through the 2.4-GHz wireless band. The wireless speed is at 54 megabytes per second and you can get 100 megabytes per second with a wired connection. You have to set up the wireless configuration on the Linksys before using it on your network.

Plug the router's power cable into an electrical outlet. Attach an Ethernet cable into the Internet port on the back of the router. Connect the other end into your broadband modem. Connect your computer to the Linksys G using another Ethernet cable. This Ethernet cable can go into any of the wired router ports. Open your Internet browser. Type "192.168.1.1" in the address bar and hit "Enter." This is your router's IP address and the home of its Web configuration page. Click "Wireless." Click "Manual." Alter your SSID, also known as your network name. You can change this name to any value that you want. You can also change the wireless channel if you are in an area with many wireless connections that may interfere. Click "Save Changes." Click "Wireless Security." Choose an encryption method to encrypt your wireless transmissions. WPA or WPA2 are common security protocols you can use in wireless networks. Input a network key, also known as the network password. Click "Save Changes."

Do I need any special equipment other than the ethernet cable connection for my linksys broadband wireless-g router

That's all you need to get your wireless internet up and running. However, in order to connect computers to the wireless network, they must be wireless capable, for example, most laptops have built in wifi, however desktops will need a wireless adapter to take advantage of your wireless router.

I have Linksys - WRT54GS Wireless G Broadband Router working fine for the last 3 years and since one hour stopped working. I cannot see the light blinking on on wireless icon on the router. Any suggestions...

I've gone through two of those routers in a similar amount of time, it has most likely bit the dust. You can try connecting to it via wired and typing in the address (the default is 192.168.1.1) into Internet Explorer. There you will find the web configuration site for the router. Once you've logged in (the default access password is admin with no user name), go to the wireless tab and ensure that the wireless is not disabled (it will say, G-only, Mixed Mode, or disabled). If it is disabled, change it to the mode you need and apply the settings before you log off.

Check your power adapter with a digital multimeter. Make sure the voltage is no higher than .5 volts than what's listed. If the voltage is malfunctioning and it gets to high, it can damage the ethernet port and more on your system if it is connected wired.
