I have bluetooth on my phone... It is pairing with others but when they search for me they say I show no visibility and show not connected. They can send me pics through bluetooth but no ringtones. Why?

I used to be able to do it, but just tried for the first time in a few months and it won't allow it now. This sucks, I have alot of ringtones that aren't even available to purchase from them.

I really am not sure if you can get free ringtones any more...
T-Mobile is really tight about that stuff and usually has the phone configured so that your free ringtones wont work on it.
Maybe trying to use the "bluetooth" option and send ringtones to your phone would work.

When my sister-in-law texts me, the first one is always fine, but the subsequent texts are symbols and gibberish. They look fine on her end. Any suggestions?

If your sister in-law has an iPhone that's probably the culprit right there that's affecting the receipt of her text messages to your Android phone.

1. If she has an iPhone, ask her if her iMessage is on when she texts you. iMessage is only compatible to other iPhones and not other brands she sends to.

2. Is she sending you text messages using the iPhone emoji keyboard? letter accents? or in a different language other than English? this could be the problem when the different cellular carrier interprets the data and sends it to your Android phone that does not have the same compatible software.

Ask her to send you several test text messages in plain text without accents, no special symbols, and no emoji's. If this solved the problem, then you know what went wrong..

If you are still getting garbled text messages even with her iMessages off, and she is just sending you standard text without any symbols, icons, or pictures.. then it could be another issue.. Call your service provider to see what could be wrong.

i would suggest calling on a different phone so that you will be able to troubleshoot the phone in question while talking with Tech Support

in the US, the major cellular companies are:
AT&T Wireless Customer Support: 1-800-331-0500
Sprint Wireless Customer Support: 1-888-211-4727
T-Mobile Wireless Customer Support: 1-877-453-1304
Verizon Wireless Customer Support: 1-800-922-0204

Hi, iv got a samsung tocco phone and would like to know how i can turn the text tone on silent without having to put my phone on silent, cant seem to figure it out, i would appreciate any help. thank you

You can but it turns off all the sounds from your phone when you touch the screen but you still get call and text ringtones.

Go To Menu >> Settings >> Phone Profiles

Press the icon that looks like this >> on the normal profile. From the top right corner just below the time, press the arrow pointing down. Select Phone Sounds,
Scroll down and put the sound volume down. Then Save.

I can't recieve songs via bluetooth. My friend has to send them by text message. Do you have to have soft ware or something.

if you have verizon wireless that would be why. verizon dosnt allow song or ringtone transfer by bluetooth. that way you have to use their program to purchase them so they get money for it. good business lol. if you dont have verizon then im not exactly sure what yould be wrong sorry.

Ringtones

On new Alltel phones, there is not any easy workaround to get free ringtones on your phone. Ringtones are a revenue-generating source for phone companies, and a big one at that. However there is a workaround.

Samsung sync cant handle a ringtone half of its supposed capacity?

I'm assuming your trying to change your text ring tone. I to had the same problem. And after a little bit of research I found a really good program. Download "mobile ringtone converter" they will give you a free trial. you can pay for it if u like... wink ...wink... Now after you have the full copy. insert any song you want/ edit it any way you want and when your ready..... (for the sync) save it as a *.*mmf file. when its done just tranfer the new *.*mmf file to your phone (i.e. micro SD) then go to setting's/ profiles/ edit your profile/ scroll over to the text mess. icon/ then select message alert tone/ select- use my alert tone/ then slect- your new *.*mmf file you just made. Assuming you did everything right......BAM! new ring tone! p.s. regular ringtone's Can use *.*mp3 format & *.*mmf format... good luck hope it works for ya!
