Problem with my Whirlpool 9250 front load washer

During the spin cycle, the machine vibrates loudly and seems like the interior barrel has come off its track.

When we took the machine apart, we found that 2 of the bolts that hold the cement stabalizer had broken off and the loud banging noise was the cement stabalizer slamming around the inside of the machine. Luckily, even though it cracked, we were still able to put new bolts on to hold it in place and it is working okay so far.

The problem you are having can be caused by one of 3 things. The pulley on the back of the tub can be slipping in the hole that it fits into. The main tub bearing that the tub rides inside of is defective, or the tub support on the main spin basket is broken.
Reach inside of the washer and give it a turn. If the basked seems to fall when it turns one of these 3 items is the problem.
There is a rear bearing that you can change and you can also change the rear pulley. These two are the only 2 that you would consider repairing. The inner rear bearing or the main tub support are not cost effective to repair.
Unplug the washer, then take the back off and you will see the pulley with the belt going around it. make sure it is stable. You can remove it by taking off the large nut that is holding it in place. Then the pulley will pull off. Behind it you will see the rear bearing. On some models this bearing is not replaceable from the rear. Check to see if it is possibly damaged. If the bearing looks good, you will probably need the main tub. I do not recommend repairing if it needs the tub. The job would cost in the $600.00 price range. Good luck and send me more information if you have it. Thanks for requesting me.

My whirlpool duet washer hammers very loud when it spins. The outside of the machine doesn't seem to vibrate much but it is very loud.

That is a common occurrence with dryers such as this one. Even though it sounds bad, it is harmless. If it really bothers, you can re-balance the load and it should reduce the vibration.

After our move, the drum has a lot of play and vibrates loudly during spin cycle. Seems to have come off of one of its mounts, perhaps. Sadly, we failed to reinstall the drum stabilizers for our move.

You can take off the lower front panel (three small screws by the floor ) and inspect the 4 shocks for proper operation it sounds like maybe one has come loose

Loud banging noise during rinse

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the rinse or spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary. This will solve your problem.
