If there is a separate video card in your computer, you need to know what kind it is.
First, what color is the slot that it is in? This will tell us basically what kind of card you have.
For instance, a white slot means it's a PCI card, a brown slot means it's an AGP (but there are several types) and a black slot (or can be orange or green) means it's a PCI-E card.
Perhaps you can take the card out and tell us what brand it is or even the model which many times is printed on the card.

What is the best graphics card compatible with aahd3-hb?

Your mainboard has a PCI-Express x16 v1.0 graphics card. You can use any PCIE v1.0 or version 2.0 card. Make sure that the power requirements for the card are met. Check the specs, most will at least tell you a minimum wattage (400W PSU recommended)
Too little power will shorten the life of the card, or kill it instantly.
You can find the information on your current power supply on a sticker on the side of the PSU. Check this out and either
  • stay within the power supply's specs when selecting a new card
  • plan to replace the power supply when you install the video card

HIS radeon HD 6750

Are you certain that your mainboard is PCIE 2.1 and not PCIE 2.0? PCIE 2.1 cards like yours will not work on a 2.0 mainboard (2.0 cards will work on a 2.1 board, however) If this is the case, you will need to get a compatible card.
If this isn't the case, have you tried this card in a different PC? It could also be that the card has a problem.
The last possibility is that there are power issues. A couple of possibilities:
  1. An external power connector (6-pin PCIE direct power to the video card) is unplugged. Check and re-test.
  2. Your power supply (PSU) doesn't provide enough power to your graphics card & the rest of your system. Check your PSU's specs against the specs for your card. HIS recommends a minimum 450W PSU, and I would recommend a good quality Antec, Corsair, or PC Power and Cooling or Cooler Master product in the 500W range for this card.
  3. You got a bad card, or else it shorted out, etc. during setup or installation.

Unsupported render target format

It sounds like your video card isn't powerful enough for the game (I would suspect). Re-post your system specs and what game you are trying to play and someone can look specifically at your system vs. the game requirements.

Would like to upgrade Gateway Desk Top 500SE to a HD video

I don't think you can't do that without some major changes. The 500SE is a small format computer. The motherboard only has 2 PCI slots so you need to match that interface. NewEgg still sells the PCI video cards but I don't think they are HD

You need a more larger power supply. The current one is a 145 watt u-ATX Form Factor; you need at least 250 watts in that form factor (size)

A better choice might be a new motherboard. Look for board with a AMD Socket 7 if you want to keep this CPU. The motherboard will need to match the size of the current one to reuse the case. It's a uATX "like" form factor (7.4" x 9.35"). Also plan on a new power supply any AGP or PCI-e video card will want more than 350 watts (for the low end cards). Getting a new computer might be worthwile.

I hope this helps.

Problem installing ATI Radeon X1300 256mb in Dell Optiplex GX260

Hi edward,
I'm looking at the specs of your dell and of the video adapter.
It appears the Power Supply in your dell may to under powered for the video card.
According to dell's website the largest psu that ships with that unit is 250 watts while the radeon x1300 needs a minimum of 250 watts to run and assuming you have the 250 watt version you need to take into consideration that the psu is also powering your CPU, memory, fans, hard drive/s and other components on in your system so 250watts just isn't enough.
You may want to contact dell and see if there is a larger psu that you can purchase. I would recommend one at least in the 400 watt range.
I hope you get it straightened out I certainly know how frustrating it can be to not be able to use new hardware.
Let me know how it works out.

2GB RAM should be about $100, the same for installation. Your current graphics card meets the specs you provided. An upgraded video card will be about $200 for one that will work, $300 for one that will work well.

COMPUTER GOES SHUTDOWN WHEN PLAYING HIGH-END GAMES

If your mobo wasn't compatible with your video card, you wouldn't get a screen at all.
Yes upgrade your directx to 10
and yes upgrade your power supply to a 650Watt or greater.
The problem is most likely that you have a low wattage PSU and
when your vcard request more power to run higher graphic games than the
Windows Interface, your computer shuts down because it doesn't have enough power to give.
