Hi rahul san,
I have done a lot of research on solving your overheating problem.
This inexpensive modification has been used successfully by many, and does not affect the product warranty.
Check it out here  http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=250129.
When you go the site, read page 1 and maybe a few others on how the modification is undertaken, then go to page 9 and read post by : KenHTNotebook Guru
There are 35 pages of information about the same probem, so I hope this helps you and maybe others who have the same problem.
Cheers.

SOURCE: xps 1330 producing heat

With your laptop producing to much heat, make sure the air vents on your laptop are free of dust, debris, dirt, etc.

Also even though the CPU fan doesn't run all the time, make sure it is at least turning on now and then. If the fan doesn't turn on at all after say like 15 minutes then the cpu fan might be bad and would need to be replaced.

If your fan does turn on and still overheats then its the motherboard that is bad cause its not regulating the voltage that goes thru the board. This can happen when components go bad on the motherboard. I highly doubt its the lcd screen that causes the overheating cause it doesn't produce enough power to heat up hardly at all.

Alert chipset heat sink not detected system halted dell xps 420

Sounds like your heatsink which is inside the computer and sits on top of the CPU is bad. There will probably be a fan that sits on top of the heatsink.

Look on ebay and purchase one for your system.

I found a new one below on ebay for $14.95 (the link is below)

Yellow indicator DELL XPS 710

If you had "connections that were flowing back" you are at sea and the tide has returned.
Where is this yellow indicator?? is it a yellow painted rod that's popped out of the top of your computer? Is it on your monitor screen as part of some warning software? Gawd.

Why would a monitor start to smoke?

Hi!

The cause could be a blown capacitor/regulator and/or overheating to due blocking of ventilation area, which resulted in self-"frying"... It's time to replace the monitor!
