If there are even Linux drivers for this product, it is likely that they are already included with the distro and thus you do not need to download anything.

How to set up a Nexxtech wired router?

Hi, manny_khera This could be a bit complicated...or not? First we'd need to know the make and model of your comcast modem as it may be a "modem/router" if so, it will need to be set to bride mode before your new router can work properly - to avoid "double natting" (both devices attemting to preform the same fucntion - network address translation.)

I was recently given a HP Pavilion Model No. 4530. I was about to connect to the net when I found that the modem as well as the phone jack had been removed. Can I use an external modem or do I have to...

It doesn't matter if you use an internal or external modem. I would just look for something fast and cheap, probably at a shop that deals with old systems as trades, etc. You should be able to find 56K internal modems for a couple of bucks. But remember, dial-up is dial-up and it will take forever to do anything on the net. You may want to consider picking up a cheap 10/100 Ethernet adapter instead and connecting via DSL or cable to get anything more than basic e-mail and simple web browsing.

And the OS support is no longer there for a machine this old; Win2K is pretty much the limit and that would probably run like a dog. And it isn't even supported by MS any longer.

Modem issue

a mother board is a big thing to replace. you may want to just buy another computer if thats the case. it may also be the way it hooks up. is it a card. if it's a card thta slot maybe shorting it out. if so try a diffrent slot. my best advice is move away from dial up all together.

Cannot find the drivers hence it will not let me load the drivers

Hello gastong,

Here is a link that will take you to all the available drivers nexxtech have. You should be able to find the drive under nexxtech as the brand and gaming devices as the category. Once you have the brand and category selected, there will be another drop down menu availabe. So all you have to do now is to locate the model number of your network card.
