Right click on My Computer, select Manage. Expand Services and applications, click on Services. Scroll down until you see Wireless Zero Configuration. Make sure it is set to Automatic and that the service is started.

What version did you have before XP Home? Perhaps the drivers are not included and need to be installed via cd.

Right click on the wired icon in your taskbar and Open Network Connections. Do you see your wireless connection?

Look at the Control panel....It should have the wireless icon. I hope that fixes it.

Deleting old SP1 partition on dell 2400

Sound like you have two versions of the operating system out there. Not sure what your question is. If you want to remove the old version you should have done that while you were doing the installation. That would have been easy by just telling the system to do it for you.

Now you will probably need some type of partitioning software and i'm not sure if you just delete it if it will cause problems when you try to boot because windows knows it's out there.

If I were you, I would just reinstall windows and clean the disk of everything. It shows you what it finds out there as far as operating systems, so just delete them both, then do a quick NTFS format of the drive and reinstall windows.

Cyclic boot and reboot after installing SP2

If you have the Windows XP recovery disk you should boot into the disk and do a repair install of the Windows OS. You can also press 'F8' before or right after the Windows XP splash screen comes up and tell it to either boot into Safe Mode or "Boot with last configuration that worked". If you boot into safe mode, go to control panel and programs and uninstall the sp2 installation. Please comment back if you need further assistance. I will be providing a How-To on how to recover a system using system CDs today.

try to repair windows, only if you have tried more. like, restart the computer, or turn it off and unplug it, leaving it for a while without power, while is unplugged press the power button 2 times to get rid of the power that is on-board still. Also if you know you can jumper your motherboard to restart the boot system. any of these can help you

I lost my windows xp disc, get new one?

yes, your more than likely running hp home edition. so what you need to do is find someone with a xp home edition OEM software. you will install the software with that key and then when you have to register the software what you do is go to the telephone option then click change product key and use the key that is on your computer. it will update and then register it

NTLDR is compressed

Try this:
Insert the Windows CD (the oryginal one) into the CDrom drive, and restart tyour PC. When the compter bootsagain select an option that are required to start the computer from the CD if you are asked to do so. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console. When prompted type "1" or if you have a multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console. When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER. Now you should be at the comman prompt and ready to repair the ntldr file. Now all you need to do is enter the following commands (in order) and each command on a new line just like you see them here:
cd \
attrib -c ntldr
exit
The PC should reboot now and everything should work just fine.
