I downloaded printer driver for brother mfc240c, but even after install, I get a message that says the driver isn't installed.

Open the printer and scanners folder an delete all the devices (Brother Printer, Brother Fax, Brother PC-Fax if installed). Point to device an right click the mouse button.
Restart the computer.
Download the software from Brother Solutions Center. Download the whole suite not just the drivers. Make sure you select the software that is compatible with your version of the OS :Windows 7 32 bits, Windows 7 64 bits, Windows 8 32 bits, etc.
Install the software. If you are going to use a USB cable to connect the MFC to the computer, install a local USB printer. If you are going to use Ethernet network cable, install a wired network printer, and if wireless connection then install a wireless printer.
If you have problems finding or attributing an IP address to your printer (for Non-USB connections) there is Brother program that helps you attribute an IP address. You will find it on the same page as the software suite on Brother's site.

How can I set up wireless printing?

Hi Brenda,
Considering that your printer has an in-built Ethernet feature means no need for external print servers.
  • Take the printers network/Ethernet cable and then plug it into a router/network Hub.
  • Once you've connected the computer to the network, install the printers software in all the[networked] computers that will use it.
  • Now try printing.Note that, the networked computers print jobs will be printed in order received.

Hope this helps.Thanks!

Ok the following instructions will help you reset the ip address of your printer however you must use the origina driver cd to do this. Follow the instructions below if you have no print server involved with this network. If you do use a print server let me know ok?

Print and Check the Network Setup Page
  1. When the Ready/Data light is on solid, press and release Continue to print a menu settings page and a network setup page.

  2. Under the Standard Network Card heading on the network setup page, make sure Status is Connected.

If Status is Not Connected:

If the printer is active on the network, you will receive a reply.
  1. If your printer doesn't respond, or if the IP address is not what you expected:

    1. Insert the Drivers and Utilities CD into your computer.

    1. The Drivers and Utilities CD should launch the installation software automatically.

If the CD does not automatically launch, click Start® Run, type D:setup.exe (where D is the drive letter of your CD), and then click OK.
    1. When the Drivers and Utilities CD screen appears, click Set IP Address Utility.

    2. Select your printer from the "Configure Print Servers" list, and then click TCP/IP Settings.

    3. Make the necessary changes, and then click OK.

I need to get a wpa passphrase how do i get 1

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You'll Need: · Wireless print server
· USB printer
· Ethernet cable
· Computer
1. Step 1
Obtain a wireless print server that is compatible with both your wireless network and your printer. While the printer’s documentation may not explicitly say that it is compatible with a print sever, many are compatible, and this can be verified by checking the website of the print server’s manufacturer. If you have a multifunction printer, only the print function will work with most wireless print servers, though a few have recently added support for scanning and the printer’s other functions.
Step 2 Read all of the documentation that came with the wireless print server. The manual will detail the specifics of the installation routine.
Step 3 Connect the printer to the wireless print server via the USB cable. Connect the print server’s Ac adapter and turn the unit on.
Step 4 Connect an Ethernet cable between the wireless print server and your computer. This will be used for the initial setup only.
Step 5 Insert the CD supplied with the print server into your CD-Rom drive. Start the software if it does not start automatically. The application will walk you through the installation process, which includes setting the unit’s IP address, setting an access password, configuring it to connect to the wireless network, installing the drivers that allow the print server to use the printer and installing the print drivers on your computers.
Step 6 Choose how your print server will be addressed. Most units are set up to use dynamic addressing by default, which means that your wireless router will assign an IP address to it. This allows the server to be easily installed on the network, but it also means that the IP address of the printer may change over time. The other option is to assign a static IP address to your print server. This option is more reliable, because the print server will always use the same IP address, making it easier for the computers to find the printer and easier to access the print server’s online configuration application. If your router has the IP address of, for instance, set the print server to something like or, as long as another device does not use that address.
Step 7
Set a password to be used to access the unit’s online configuration application.
Step 8 Configure the print server to access your wireless network. Give it the same SSID network name as your router and set it to use the same wireless channel. If encryption is used on the router, enable encryption on the print server, and enter the encryption key or password.
Step 9 Follow the instructions given by the print server’s software for installing printer drivers on the unit.
Step 10
Disconnect the Ethernet cable and allow the unit to connect via the wireless network.
Step 11 Install the printing drivers on each computer that will use the printer.
Step 12 Access the print server’s online configuration application to verify all settings by entering the IP address of the unit into a web browser, using the “” format. Enter the administrator name and password.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Printer is not geting my print commands

What driver are you using on your vista machine? It would be better to load a local printer on your laptop and create a standard TCP/IP port using the address everyone else is using and load the driver locally instead of network printer. Also if you are using a print server to make it networkable you probably need the GDI version of the print driver loaded not the PCL5 or 6. It can be downloaded from PCL driver only works if PCL Print option is installed on the device. This would also give you a nic port on the copier as well, so if you have print server you probably don't have that option. If you need more specific details let me know.

Hope this helps,

ANy solution to the lack of fuji drivers for new macs and OS?

4500N can't be recognize with an Intel Mac, because the Appletalk doesn't work. My solution to print: I've got a powerPC as an interface between Imac intel and fuji network adapter. The pictro driver is installed on both machines. On The Intel, The Appletalk is connected on Airport. On the PowerPc, The Appletalk is connected on Ethernet. Ethernet cable between powerPC and pictro network adapter. SCSI2 cable between PNA and the 4500. Of course, auto calibrating + eye-one color calibrating. WELL!! it works.

Unable to install Muratec driver on XP

The copier/printer is connected to both computers through ethernet. While our "main" computer is our server, they are basically two linked computers not a big network kind of thing. The ethernet connects the printer to both computers but I can only print from one.
