Is there a wall mount for a sony kdf-e42a10 lcd tv

It sounds like you have problem with the Optical Block. It is not a cheap fix. You may want to call Sony at 1-800-222-SONY and see if they would help with the repair. They can also refer you to a local repair facility to do the work.

SOURCE: Sony Bravia 40" LCD TV Stand

There is a slotted area on the bottom of the unit and the bracket on the stand slides over top of it. There should have been four screws that came with the packaging that fit in the four locations in the lower center of the cabinet back that secures the unit to the Stand.

Start by changing the lamp. If you got 5 years out of the old one, count your blessings, most folks only get three. The lamp is designed to be replaced by the consumer. Ebay will carry a replacement for you or you can get it directly from rivervalleyelectronics.net. They've got good prices. The lamp door is on the back. Its really easy, give it a shot.

SOURCE: how do i reset the lamp life for sony KDF-E42A10 ?

1) In standby mode, press the buttons on the Remote Commander sequentially, in rapid succession:

[Display] , Channel [5] , Sound Volume [+] , Power [ON]

2)To enter BE-micro service mode menu, press JUMP 2 times.

3) To display the lamp time, press Channel[4]
The screen displays:
“ Total lamp time is 14 hours”

4) To display the lamp time clear, press Channel[5]
7 times and Channel[1].

To reset the lamp time press Channel[3] > [MUTE] > [ENTER].
WRITE (Character color is red) is momentarily displayed and the lamp time is reset to “0”.

This worsk for other Somy retroprojection TVs as well, eg. KDF-E50A10 , KDF-E50A11 etc.

Hi,
Please make sure lamp cover is fixed properly as it was removed to replace/ check lamp in tv.
If lamp cover is not fixed, tv will not turn On and red light will blink 3 times.

Do I need a qualified technician to fix a fan problem on KDF-e42a10 and is it worth fixing or should i just get new tv


fan is simple to replace take bottom panel off back of tv then u will see fan just remove 4 mounting screws and flag clips and replace in reverse order.

Sony KDF E42A10 picture loses quality.


It sounds Lamp is weak and causing darker picture.
How old is this TV and did you replaced Lamp recently?
If lamp has not been replaced in past 2-3 years then its time for new lamp, XL-2400 available in Sony Accessories Store and lamp replacement procedure is written in user manual.

The TV resets itself every 30 seconds , I have turned it off I have also unplugged it and plugged it directly into the wall as well as change out surge protectors. the TV will be fine for a day or two then...


If it is Sony KDF-E42A10 TV then it needs new lamp.
How old is this TV and have you replaced lamp recently?
Lamp replacement procedure is written in user manual.
