Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-55WF655 36" Rear Projection HDTV
I REPLACED THE LAMP A YEAR AGO AND RECIENTLY STARTED TO GO OFF AND ON AND OFF AND ON . SO I REPLACED THE THERMAL FUSE THINKING THAT MIGHT FIX IT NOPE STILL DOES IT SO TOOK IT COMPLETELY APART AND DISCOVERED THE FANS WERE CLOGGED SO BLEW THEM OUT WITH COMPRESSOR PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND STILL DOES THE SAME THING ANY SUGGESTIONS.
Listen for the buzz sound created by the spark gap mounted on the lamp ballast board. If your hear that, its a bad lamp. And, if your TV uses an XL2200 lamp, its a safe bet that's the problem. That particular lamp is prone to intermittent ops.
