Question about Brother IntelliFAX 2800 Laser Fax

Paper is not "picked up" to print.

Will not print--paper roller does not start up to pull the paper in. The machine then says "check paper"and reload. but nothing different--sends faxes out just fine. will not print fax or copy paper.

TRY CLEANING THE PAPER ROLLER WITH DENATUYRED ALCAHOL OR MAY BE THERE IS SOME THING STUCK IN THE MACHINE GO AHEAD AND LOOK GOOD LUCK BROTHER TECH

Solution two: Check the paper The condition of the paper or the amount of paper loaded might prevent the rollers from picking it up and feeding it through the product. Use the following steps to check the paper in the input tray.
  1. Remove any wrinkled or damaged paper from the input tray.
  2. Make sure that all the paper is the same size and type.
  3. Tap the stack of paper on a flat surface to align the edges.
  4. Make sure that the stack of paper contains from 10 to 25 sheets of paper.
    NOTE: Do not overload the input tray. Make sure the stack of paper is shorter than the top of the paper width guide.

Solution three: Check the print settings The paper settings in the print driver must match the paper size and type loaded in the product. Use the following instructions to adjust the paper settings.
  1. In the software program you are printing from, click File .
  2. Click Print , and then click Setup , Properties , or Preferences .
    NOTE: The specific options might vary depending on the software program.
  3. Click the Features tab.
  4. In the Basic Options pane, select More from the Paper sizes drop-down list.
  5. Select the size of paper loaded in the product, and then click OK .
  6. In the Basic Options pane, select More from the Paper type drop-down list.
  7. Select the type of paper that you loaded, and then click OK .
    NOTE: These changes do not change the default print settings. The print settings revert to the default settings the next time you open the program.
  8. Change any other print settings necessary, and then click OK .
  9. Click OK to print.

Solution four: Clean the rollers Follow these steps to clean the rear rollers and the pick rollers on the HP product. Step One: Clean the rear rollers

Printer does not attempt to pick up paper but gives out of paper message and or flashing paper sign on panel


steps:
(a) driving a pickup roller, picking up printing paper stacked in a paper cassette, and then, feeding the picked up printing paper to an image forming unit
(b) after picking up the printing paper in step (a), checking to determine whether or not the printing paper has been fed to the image forming unit(c) when it has been determined in step (b) that the printing paper has not been fed and a paper feed error has been generated, again driving the pickup roller, so as to attempt to pick up the printing paper stacked in the paper cassette again.

HP Deskjet 1200c will not feed paper. Fails to pick up paper from tray. If force pickup by hand can get it to start printing but moves paper in wrong direction as as positions for printing. Does not...

This sounds like a problem with the paper pick up rollers. I would suggest cleaning the rollers with a little isopropyl alcohol. Please make sure the machine is turned off when doing the cleaning. Let the rollers dry for a few minutes. If this does not work, The rollers would probably have to be replaced.

Paper is not picking up in the hp deskjet 3745 printer


THERE MAYBE PAPER STILL IN THE MACHINE, YOU MAY HAVE TO REMOVE AS MUCH AS THE CASE PARTS TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY PAPER INSIDE THE MACHINE, TAKE SOME ALCOHOL AND CLEAN THE ROLLER, FEEDER AND ANY OTHER ROLLER YOU CAN GET TO YOU MAY EVEN WANT TO USE A Q-TIP TO GET TO THE ROOLERS NOT REATCHABLE BY HAND. REMOVE PRINT CARTIGES MAKE SURE THEY ARE CLEAN OF DIRTS,
TRY DOING PRINTER ALIENEMENT OR PRINT TEST FIRST AFTER CLEANING.

1720 printer clicking and will not pick up paper


open the back "flap" up, and locate the pick up rollers. if the roller is jammed or stuck, just rotate it manually until it begins to pick up paper again

Paper is pulled on one side when printing


First look through the paper path, and make sure there are no obstructions.

Look where you put the paper in. See if you can see inside there and see the roller that turns and picks up the paper. If you can, make a mixture of alcohol and a little dish soap. Damp a rag with it, and reach in there to clean the rollers.  See if the rollers will turn manually, but be careful not to force anything.  Another way to get to the whole roller, would be to start making a print, while watching the rollers.  As soon as the rollers have turned half way, unplug the printer.  Now you can reach the other side and clean that.

There is another way to clean the rollers.  Using the alcohol mix, take a single sheet of paper, and damp one half of it with the solution.  Stick the single sheet in the paper tray, and make a print, but hold on to the paper so that it doesn't feed through the machine.  Do this several times, and the rollers turning against the wet paper should clean them.

Try to print again. It might take a few tries. The rollers have to turn against the paper and dry themselves off again.

If this works, then you need new rollers (cleaning them will only make them work temporarily and the problem will come more frequently until you change them).

Won't even print test page


try to unplug machine for a couple of minutes. make sure that it is not out of paper,(sorry I have to make sure of everything). Let me know what happens.

Jammed paper message


There are two reasons for receiving sheets not being  picked up either the  rollers are dirty or the cleaning assembly is bad  which is under the print carriage (either the sensor needs cleaning/servicing )

Lexmark 4300 not loading paper correctly


Look down the paper feed into the printer you will see one white plastic roller. Find a cotton bud and soak the end in methylated spirits and poke it down and wipe the roller. make sure you wipe the whole circumference of the roller. This removes any grease that has come off the paper onto the roller and allows the roller to grip the paper better. I have done this once and have not had a recurrence of the problem.
