Once the plastic end cover is removed, remove the lint filter to expose the air pump rotor. You will probably find that it is shattered & is binding. Measure the thickness of the rotor & replace, then set the pump pressure. These rotors are real scarce now, so don't wait too long.

Blower won't run

usually a "humming motor" indicates either a bad capacitor or a defective motor. With the power off try to spin the blower wheel...it should spin freely. If it is tight or wont spin and there are no obstructions stopping it (like an air filter sucked into blower or other debris) then the motor most likely is seized. If the blower wheel spins free then you may have a bad capacitor. Keep in mind, just because the blower spins easy doesn't mean the motor is good. I have had motors that are defective that dont seize up but most of the time the blower wheel will not spin free if the motor fails.

My reddy heater won't pick up fuel. Lines seem to be clear. Everything else works has normal but I can't get it to pick up fuel. Nozzel is clean.

I have fixed this problem a lot.... locate the pump on the back of the electric motor... take the plastic cover off the pump.... then take off the metal plate the cover was screwed to (should be 6 screws) ... when you remove that plate there is a little black wheel with 4 reeds in it.... those reeds should freely move in and out of that wheel.... chances are they are dirty and they are stuck... take those little reeds out of the wheel and take a scratch pad or a semi rough piece of sand paper and clean those reeds and the slots on the wheel... then they should freely slide in and out of the slots on the wheel... make sure to spin the fan blades to make the wheel spin... that way you can make sure all 4 reeds and sliding up and down in the slots very freely.... this is the most common problem with these heaters not picking up fuel.... another thing to look at is on that plastic cover of the pump... there is an adjustment screw that takes a flat headed screw driver.... try adjusting it in for more pressure ( the pressure adjustment screw is not the cap that sticks out of the plastic, but the plastic screw that is in the small round collar on the outside of the plastic pump cover ) hope this helps

When I plug the unit in, the fan turns very slow, and I smell fumes, but the unit does'nt turn on

I am not able to give you a solution, but will put forth some possibilities for you to check.
  1. Spin the fan manually. No power, please. If the fan spins freely, and no grinding is heard or felt, then the starter capacitor or starter relay (whichever equipped) is defective. Internal capacitors are not serviceable. Replace the motor.
  2. If the fan does NOT spin freely and/or binds, either the rotor (air pump) is broken or a motor bearing is bad. The rotor is replaceable, the motor bearing is not serviceable.
If you decide to repair the heater as described then the air pump pressure must be reset, in either case, in order for the heater to burn properly. It is a simple process. Follow this link for instructions

Reddy Heater 110K btu motor won't start.

Bearing have gone bad in the electric motor. You will have to replace the electric motor. They are expensive but still cheaper than buying a whole new heater.

My heater on my goodman heatpump/air conditioner fan don't come on and it make a loud noise

Compressor will make a sound as refrigerant pressure builds. Could be a few things wrong. With breaker off!!! Check first see if you can spin fan blade outside if moves freely it is okay. If Hard to move Fan motor Bad. Next check what they call duel capacitor remove out side panel it look like these. Top of these should be flat, if it has a bulge on the top capacitor has failed has 3 or 4 leads on it usual 6ca8bc8.jpg

try this, take off the top cover. plug in the heater and when the humming starts, rotate the fan sharply with a screwdriver. keep your fingers away from the fan. if the fan spins under power your start winding is shot. get a new motor. www dot desatech dot com
