Question about Harman Kardon AVR 25 MKII
ONE month out of warranty, I began hearing constant static and occasional static popping from my right front speaker. I though I had blown the tweeter, but when I plugged in the left front speaker to the right front output of the $600 HK AVR, the same static was now in the left speaker. Thus, it was not the speaker. Both Circuit City and the HK authorized service center confirmed the problem. HK graciously authorized a courtesy repair to no avail – three months at the shop and I got the problem back. Has anyone had this problem resolved short of a getting a refurbished replacement (garbage) from HK? Should I just give up, buy the Denon, and lesson learned?
You seem have a problem with a component in that channel, the bad news is that it is hard to fix that type of problem (you would be better off if the channel died). All of the components in the final output section are part of the same audio loop (per channel), which makes it hard to find the faulty part.
Sounds to me like a bypass or coupling capacitor is faulty or need to be re-soldered, either way to fix this problem you should take it in to a repair shop.
I hope that helps and sorry for the bad news.
