Question about Frigidaire Dryer Timer Control Knob White 134011703

Dryer timer knob keeps breaking

I have had a Frigidaire stack washer and dryer for 6 years and just ordered my 4th dryer timer knob. It has always been hard to turn and then after about a year, the plastic neck of the knob breaks and I have to get another knob. This scenario keeps repeating. I don't think it is the knob, I think it is the mechanism inside which is very tight and won't turn easily but I don't know how to fix that. Any ideas?

SOURCE: Removal of the timer knob.

you have two different knobs to replace?..is it the water level knob or the timer knob?
if its the timer knob you need to remove, look underneath the timer and you will find a black plastic pin depressed at the middle. pull it slowly for about 1/4 of an inch.

then you can remove the knob in the front of the timer switch.

in putting it back, install the knob first in the timer and then depressed that black plastic pin to lock the knob.

be carefull not to pull the plastic pin all the way out. it would be very hard to put it back in.

cheers,

SOURCE: needing to take off old timer knob and replace with new one

We found this on another web site:
This was super easy. If you can screw and unscrew a nut from a bolt, its that easy.
The Knob assembaly comes as a whole. So once you remove the old knob (unscrew to the Left).

Then replace the new knob assy (screw to the Right) till its a snug fit. As you will see this knob is designed to be a clockwise rotation only - normal operation - sort of a self tightening screw.

Need new cycle control knob for Whirlpool Model LLR8233BNO

You can order replacement parts online. Here is a site that I have used in the past.

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/top-cabinet-parts-for-whirlpool-llr8233bn0.html

There is a place to search within this model and if you type "knob" without the quotes, it will show you just the knobs for the washer.

Frigidaire Model FEQB2152FE1. Start dryer and after 5 minutes "Ad" code; lights blink dryer drum turns, but does not dry clothes

Check that exhaust air vent is venting air. If not, clear vent and retry.
Check that heating element is heating. if not, check overheat switch for continuity with power unplugged. If you don't have continuity get new switch. If it reads ontinuity then suspect the heating element.

How do you get the knob off the timer

Timer is not identified.

If you have spring-wound timer, or EJ351 timer, or E1020 dial timer, the the dial pulls straight off.

If you have rotating-dial timer, the dial does not come off. Instead the plate snaps off.

If you have plug-in timer, or timer module, or power pack, or box timer, this type of timer dial does not come off as general rule.

Washer won't drain water.....will agitate in spin cycles, but stops there and water is still in drum

How handy are you? This problem may lie in the main circuit board. If you call in an authorized service person to do a diagnostic, he would find it in a heartbeat. Watch what he does carefully. He'll try to sell you a new washer for $1100 or install the circuit board for $300 or more. Tell him that you'll think about it. Pay him his service fee of $75. Go to the local appliance supply house and order the board for $110. install it yourself. They upgraded the resistors and beefed up the diodes. My washer is still working after this happened over 5 years ago!

I have a frigidaire dryer gler642as3 model it ran for two hours and didn't stop also when you open the door during the cycle it shuts the drum off but the dryer gets very hot you can't touch it what can it...

Well the timer could be defective. But believe it or not a clogged dryer vent can do some of the same things. Without air flow, the heater will heat, then when it doesn't circulate and and dry clothes, it gets hot and the hi temp overload near heater should turn it off, then when it cools it will start the same cycle over. Make sure you have good air flow coming out of the vent outside. If in doubt disconnect hose from dryer. Make sure to remove any lint. Put a panty hose leg over the hose and try the dryer. If it heats ok now, then you know your vent is clogged (panty hose will keep lint from spraying allover your laundry room)

Don';t throw the dryer away yet. Check the circuit breaker in the electric panel to see it it has popped. If it checks out ok then check where you plug the dryer electric cord in. There may be an overload pop-out button on the receptacle. If there is, reset it.

The Timer Knob on my Maytag Dryer does not move. The drying just goes on and on unless I notice and stop the dryer.

While the dryer is turning slowly advance the timer knob to the end of the cycle. The dryer should stop. It sounds as if the timer motor has died or is not being powered for some reason and is not advancing the timer.
