Question about Foxconn 845GV4MR-ES Motherboard

When i plug my My Book in via USB the wizard cannot find software

I have a My Book Essentail Edition 2.0 external hard drive which when plugged into the USB worked fine. My comp got a virus crashed and had to be reset to factory settings. Now when i plug my My book in i get new hardware wizard but it fails to find anything on the internet to run it. My My Book did not come with a driver disc you are supposed to plug in via USB and away you go, it had not been connected to the comp when it was infected so it is not corrupt, i only use it to store important info and pics. Western Digital told me it may be by USB drivers need updating but could not tell me how to do it, but said it could also be a number of other things. My motherboard is a Foxconn the code above this was RC4107MA and the barcode beside it was UY4L61003796 PC RC410M01 D3-6LRS2, my computer says its an Intel Pentium 4.
If you need anymore information please let me know. I really need to access my info which was luckily saved but is unfortunatley inaccessible right now.

How can I get my Belkin router to read my Seagate storage device so that all computers in the house can access said Seagate storage device?

1) Turn off your wireless router and unplug the external hard drive you want to make wireless.
2) Plug an Ethernet cable to the "Network-attached storage" device, and the other end of the cable to an available Ethernet port on your wireless router.
3) Connect one end of the USB cable to the wireless router's available USB port and the other end of the USB cable to your "External" hard drive.
4) Turn on the both the Wireless router and the External hard drive. Make sure that your Internet connection is still working.
5) Insert the installation CD and run it on your computer. Follow the installation instructions and install any utilities related to your external hard drive. There may be special utilities provided for flash drives that are not needed for hard drives.
6) Create a login name and security password for the "NAS" device during the setup process. When the installation process is completed, you will now be able to use your external hard drive.

Extenal hard disc when plug in the USB the PC can't read

You may need to plug in an additional cable for power for the hard drive. If you have, make sure the hard drive itself is not broken

Why wont my external hard drive registor on my computer? and why wont it show up on my computer?

Hi,
does it show up on another laptop or computer?
Some of the larger hard drives need access to 2 separate USB ports to allow enough current for the drive to spin up and be accessed. Each USB port on your computer can only provide half an amp of current.
If the external drive has a lead with 2 USB plugs make sure you have both plugged in at the host computer.
The larger drives eg 1TB in a large enclosure usually have a dedicated power supply which you need to use. The smaller pocket size drives (containing laptop hard drives usually no larger than 500Gb) typically only make use of a USB lead for data and power access (whether it be a single or double headed USB lead)
Feel free to ask more questions.
Regards,
Steve

USB-Flash Drive Problem?

In The BIOS setting , there is a setting for making the USB drive High-speed or full-speed. Try to change it and the check, also enable external/removable drive option in the chiset setting. Finally if nothing help, try defaul settings and plug in yourUSB drive while connected to the net. If it responds th same way then try full format of the Flash drive, remove the hardware on on plugging it back open "add new hardware" and let it load automatically, even via the net for the optimum driver. Also visit their web site and do the troubleshooting steps if all the above fail...sodeep

DELL INSPIRON E1505 NOTEBOOK (Motherboard/ Hard Drive Problems)

You have 2 solutions here, basically.

1 - Buy an external hard drive enclosure for laptop hard drive and connect that via USB to your desktop. After that, Windows should pick it up as an external drive, like a USB stick.

2 - If you can get the computer to turn on, you can connect the laptop and desktop together via network card (ethernet cable) with a CrossOver cable. You'd set the desktop IP settings statically to 192.168.1.1, 255.255.255.0, 192.168.1.1 and the laptop to 192.168.1.2, 255.255.255.0, 192.168.1.1. Then you'd just browse from one to the other by \\<computername>\c$, log in if it asks, and copy what you need.
