Question about EliteGroup ECS A780GM-A Motherboard - AMD 780G, Socket AM2+, ATX, Audio, Video, HDMI, PCI Express 2.0, Gigabit
I am building a desktop pc with an atx midtower case and I would like to know how to connect the case wiring to the motherboard.I am confused on the positive and negative pin wire connections. Can you help.
Assuming that the computer is laying down on it's right side, and you are viewing the F panel (the front panel header) from the right side of the motherboard (the bottom of the computer), pin 1 is on the bottom left of the F panel, pin 2 is on the top left, pin 9 is on the lower right, and pin 10 is on the top right (no actual pin)...
1 HD_LED_P Hard disk LED (+) 2 FP PWR/SLP *MSG LED (+)
3 HD_LED_N Hard disk LED (-)
5 RST_SW_N Reset Switch (-)
7 RST_SW_P Reset Switch (+)
9 RSVD Reserved
4 FP PWR/SLP *MSG LED (-)
6 PWR_SW_P Power Switch (+)
8 PWR_SW_N Power Switch (-)
10 Key No pin
Usually the wires and the pins are color coded, (the colored ones being positive.) Sometimes the connections are written in very small abbreviations on the motherboard.

There should be markings on the motherboard and it should also show you in the manual the way it goes.
Here is a link that also shows the default configuration of the power, reset, hdd led etc.: http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa177/glecakes/computerProblems/MBinstructions.jpg
Normally on the cords from the case (if they have labelling on the plastic end) the labelling will always face out (so you can read it when its plugged in)
I hope this helps
Have a great day!
