Hi I have an Emachine with a Compaq fp5315 Monitor. When I plug it into the computer all it does is flash What do I need to do?

try booting into "SAFE MODE" using the F8 key.
let me know if it works and we can go from there.

techguru2009: First start the computer without the monitor plugged in. After 3 minutes plug the monitor in, If you do not see anything then you have to find a way to reset the chosen monitor with windows computer management tool. Device manager click on monitors and remove all. Then restart and the operating system should recognize the new monitor. Let me know if this helps.
