I turn it on, put in the dvd, then it just says ''loading'' Eventually it says no disk. It worked fine last week! Any ideas?

I would first check to see if eye is not scratched or dirty and clean it if nesassary..
If you unplug the unit for a few minutes it should reset it's self.ok

Your toshiba is not spinning that's why it keeps on saying loading. Unplug the dvd Open the device,once open plugin the dvd and put the dvd cleaner in the player. take your finger on the top where the dvd disk is and spin the disk. What happening is that you are cleaning the len. keep spinning until it spin on its own.Put the toshiba top back on and clean again. It should clean on it's on. Now you can play your dvd. Clean your dvd on a regular basic.

player will not read dvd
I have had this problem from one day past the warrenty experation.
Will not read disk. Opened up the unit, disk doesn't spin. Spun up the disk manually, spindle motor can almost keep it going..but eventually slows. Motor driver IC gets quite warm. trying to decide if motor driver IC is the problem or the spindle motor. Am now looking for replacement spindle motor price to decide if unit is worth repairing. BTW: disk carriage and associated mechanisms is made by sony (in the suffex C unit anyway).
