Hello , If your tv set is not digital or HD you will have to get a converter box to convert digital into analog so it can be viewed on your tv.

United States, full-power television stations are scheduled change over to digital on February 17, 2009.

You will need a digital box for your tv to watch digital tv.

How to make bunny ears work on my 1996 panasonic tv

Rabbit ears will only get channels that are very close or strong--a lot of channels are no longer broadcast in analog over the air---ask your neighbors what they use and consider going to cable or sat.

We want to hook our small Magnavox tv to a rabbit ear antennae to get only local stations. How to do this?

Unless this a new TV with ATSC (digital) tuning built in, you will need a digital adapter for off-the-air reception. Older TV sets have analog tuners, and analog broadcasting ended in June 2009. Wal-Mart and Radio Shack carry the adapters, as do other retailers. Your antenna connects to the adapter, and the adapter sends the converted signal to the TV on channel 3 or 4.

With digital broadcasting, a strong signal is necessary. Unlike the analog days, when a weak signal just meant a fuzzy picture, a weak digital signal will cause pixellation (blockiness) or freezing of the picture, or may not even be detected by the tuner. Depending on how far you are from the station's transmitter, you may find that rabbit-ears may not work too well. You may need an amplified antenna or even one outside to get best performance.

Analog or dtv

Hi, This tv has an NSTC tuner which is analog. If you subscribe to cable or satellite it will work just fine without you having to do anything for the upcoming change. However if you are using your own outside antenna or rabbit ears you will need a converter. Hope this helps.

Does the GE 35GT740 model have a digital tuner?

As far as I know, this set DOES NOT have the required tuner capability. Please note that the changeover only effects those using rabbit ears or a rooftop antenna. If you have cable or satelite, no change will be seen. The change over is from an analog broadcast signal to a digital one. Your set has a digital tuner that expects an analog input signal.

Hope this helps,
Dan

HD tv changes

The changes that you mention will only effect you if you use either rabbit ears or a rooftop antenna. The over-air broadcast signals are being changed from analog to digital. If you have cable or satelite service, there will be no change.

Durabrand D41901

Are you wondering if this Durabrand TV is going to be ok in 2009 when Television goes all Digital?

This will not affect cable TV users only people trying to recieve TV over the AIR UHF/VHF will be digital signals now and will require a special tuner to recieve them.

Most durabrands have Analog/Digital tuners but they are analog TV's.

Is this an analog or digital television?

I e-mailed Sanyo, and their response is that this TV has an analog tuner so you will need a converter.
