Sound driver for gateway 831gm windows-7

If you are having problems with the driver, a standard reinstall should be enough to fix it. Navigate to Start->Device Manager and click on "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers". Right click on your sound device and click "Update Device Drivers".

Bios issue

Even if you turn off the on board graphics, the computer usually will output video until after BIOS post. Simply plug the monitor back into the motherboard video card. If that doesnt work you can actually just reset the cmos by opening the case ( make sure its unplugged) and there is a spot on the lower left where a jumper is and you can remove that to clear the CMOS. There are many you tube videos on how to do this. By doing this you will reset the CMOS to factory.

Drawer on cd drive won't open model is gateway digital media center gm5260

There are a couple of possibilities here, first it could just be stuck. If you hit the eject button and light flashes, there may be a stuck factor here. Look for the very small hole on the door by the eject button and push an opened paperclip in the hole, this will trigger the manual eject mechanism. With the tray opened feel the way the tray moves along its geared slide. If it seems too tight or it sticks there maybe something mechanical that has happened to it. Try to close it again and try the eject button and see if it will cycle. Also try to right click on the drive itself (Open "My Computer" to view the drives) and click on "Eject" and see if it triggers the command.
