Question about Echo Indigo IO Sound Card

1 Answer

Output activity showing but no sound.

OP: Windows Vista Home Premium--Up to date I purchased the indigo io for taking my home studio with me to college after reading rave reviews. My Indigo I/O soundcards seem to be working when looking at it. the blue LED is lit, windows recognizes it, and there is output activity, BUT NO SOUND! on itunes, windows media player, games, sonar 6, cubasesx3. I installed the card with the 7.1 and updated to 7.2 for vista but neither works. I check to make sure the indigo output is selected as default under windows. I used both sony mdr-v600 headphones, and a harmon/kardon speaker system which both work 100% fine when connected to the internal soundcard but NOT with the IO! THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING! I contacted but their answers were so vague but they DID say this was a common problem. did anyone else experience this? can someone PLEEEEEEASE help me out? Also, I am using a duel system express card to pcmcia adapater both with the latest drivers and my system rarely reads both devices and usually either rejects both the adapter and card when the card is inserted or reboots. Sometimes, it reads flawlessly; What's up with that? Thankyou for your help.

Re: Output activity showing but no sound.

Virtual outputs? in Echo console The phones output is Analog 1-2 and the line output is Analog 3-4. In the Echo console, you can choose between the Analog 1-2 bus and the Analog 3-4 bus in the upper right hand corner. In the Analog 1-2 bus make sure you have virtual output 3-4 muted. In the Analog 3-4 bus make sure you have the virtual output 1-2 muted. From within your audio application you can now assign your headphones output and your house (line) output. Hope this is some help.

You can do a system restore by going to start, help and support and finding system restore on the lower right side of the help menu. Go back to a date before you removed the sound device. That should restore your system and undo your changes.

I've heard of VISTA pro running this but the home version is really not that robust for the type of gear you have there.
vista just has to many bugs.
go back to xp pro sp2 for good results.
good luck

Acer 5050 (5056) not working with Indigo I/O

Hi Uzo, click on this Acer link to open.

Under MS Windows XP, click the dropdown menu & choose,
Audio Driver Realtek Ver.
A download window will open, click to Save. Creat a folder on you're desktop & name it sound driver. Save the download file into the folder.
If you prefer the MS Windows Vista, do the same as mentioned above.
The downloaded file will be compressed in a .zip format. Use WinZip to uncompress the files into the folder you created.
If you need the program WinZip you can download a free 45 day trial from this link.

It is suggest that you check Add/remove programs & unstall any previous sound drivers before installing Acer's driver software. If you sound still does not function, please run windows update service. Code 10 can mean many different things, including you're system may contain a virus.
Explanation of error codes generated by Device Manager in Microsoft Windows XP Professional.

Good luck!
Hope the Acer driver software gets you're sound to work.
