Question about GE XL1800 1100 Watts Microwave Oven
I put a mug of water in the microwave and it exploded and went on fire. It turns out it was a musical mug. The battery flew out the bottom of the mug and burst into flames. I've cleaned the microwave out and there doesn't seem to be any damage. I'm wondering if the battery exploding may have done some unseen damage and is it still safe to use my microwave.
If there's no damage it should be fine.
I would double-check for cracks, especially in the inner door glass and the screen / mesh.
If it looks fine, heat a cup of water in a microwave-safe container for about 2 minutes and see if it cooks without arcing or odd noises and that it boils in about 2 minutes.
As always, never leave a microwave unattended while running.
