First check that the DVD has DTS (digital theater sound). Then you may need to change the audio option. In the main menu of the dvd go to sound options or set-up and check that its not 5.1 or some other audio option and is in DTS.

You did not list the make or model of your dvd player and or receiver, It would help if I had this info.

  2. Reset the color system of the player or the TV set.
Try a direct connection from the DVD player to the TV set, instead of via other components.

When DVD uses DTS Sound, doesn't use 5.1

The bitstream sent out by the BluRay player is selectable via menus on thedisk. And the player itself may have a menu that allows it. Would need to know more about the source.

Only 2 port in the back of the dvd player is working

In some DVD players you need to activate the DOLBY or DTS settings in the audio menu. So you activate those options to get the sounds from all the speakers.

Make sure the DVDs must have DOLBY OR DTS recording.

My dts is not coming on when I attach it to the dvd with optical

DTS will only come on if you are playing a dts dvd, most of these dvd,s need you to pick dts in the setup menu or sound settings. If you have done this make sure dts out is set to on in your dvd player.

Hope this helps.

I cannot seem to get DTS-HD master to show on the receiver screen

You need to check 3 things:

1) DTS will only work through a digital connection (coaxial, optical, or HDMI) between your receiver and dvd player. DTS and Dolby 5.1 cannot carry a signal over red and white rca connections.

2) After number 1 is solved ensure the reciever is set to the digital channel, your DTS-HD in this case, or in an auto mode.

3) Finally the most important is that the signal is a DTS signal. Start a DTS capable dvd, go to the sound menu and set it for DTS.

Press play and all should be well...

Cheers,
