ABOUT A MONTH AGO MY CABLE COMPANY UPDATED FOR HDL AND MY GUIDE PLUS WHICH I TOTALLY USED WAS NOT SHOWING ANY INFO JUST STATED NO LISTING ON ALL STATIONS.....

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO GET THIS BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE GUIDE PLUS OPTION WAS ONE OF THE REASON WE PURCHSED THE TELEVISION.

I have the same problem and I'm using Continental cable, I will try hooking up an antena and see if this makes a difference. This also started the first of 2009 or there abouts.

I had the same problem with the same message about my cable company blocking input. I called Thomson electronics, and they put someone on the phone who went through some diagnostics with me on the Guide Plus menu. After about a week, they told me it had something to do with their broadcast, and it was magically fixed. That lasted about a week and a half, and now I'm back to square 1. Same problem all over again.

I have a RCA 61" TV also purchased in 1999. All of a sudden a couple months ago the guide plus stopped working. I have two RCA's and neither one works. I love this feature ad would like to get it working again. I have Knology cable. Does any one have an idea on how to correct this problem?

The guide plus needs to reset itself over night. But as long as you are only connected to cable it will not allow for it to reset. You need a two way splitter the cable company signal will go in one side and the outside antenna or what ever you were connected to before cable will go on the other connector. The single side connector will go to the tv. Where the splitter says 'in' you will actually be using it as out to the tv. Where the splitter says 'out' you will be using as in for the cable and the other antenna. Guide Plus is built into your tv and needs the tv to be off to reset over night.

Using RCA P61939 without Guide Plus

Guide plus still works even if you don't have the wand hooked up. In the setup section of the guide plus there are several questions that must be answered properly or it won't function as you would like. It maybe labeled as options as well. Thanks

Guide plus on my rca p52937 tv

You are right, the Guide Plus is transmitted to your tv over the air. If you have a cable company supplying your programs, your Guide Plus will not receive a signal to set up. You will need to get a two-way splitter. It has two connections on one side and one on the other. The side that has one connection goes to your tv. The side that has two connections will connect to your cable supplier and the other to a rabbit ear or outside antenna. Then the tv has to be off over night to restore your Guide Plus.

When you first turn your cable tv on go to the customer menu and turn off the G+, you should find it in your set-up section.

Help me remove the Guide Plus Grid on my RCA television

Simply enter 00000 for the zip code and complete the set up process; if you're in Canada, select the USA as your country and use the zip. However, you MUST complete the set up, including allowing the TV to search for appropriate code. In the long scheme of things, location and codes don't really matter because you won't see the GUIDE again.

RCA TV won't change channels

Your set uses the 195 series chassis and you have something set wrong in your guide plus. Go into the TV's menu and do a complete set-up. Take the remote and press MENU, then "8" to enter setup, then press "1" for "begin setup now" and then press "1" for English, and so on. You must enter "set up guide plus+", then press OK on the remote to choose "setup", select "USA", enter your zip code, and then if you choose "yes" for "do you have cable?" you MUST then choose "no" for "do you have a cable box" If you choose "yes" for that choice, your tuner will lock on one channel no matter what channel you try entering. After choosing "no" for "do you have a cable box", choose "no" for "do you have a VCR?", exit the guide plus menu and then skip the rest of the steps by pressing "2", and then exit the main menu by pressing "0". Your channels will then work normally.
