Question about Sears TGE MP3 Player

1 Answer

MP3 player has been disconnected

When I try to put music on my player it gives me the message that my mp3 player has been disconnected, or has stopped working. I have had it for almost a year now, and have had no problems with it until now. I have tried in winamp, and windows media player, as well as opening the music file in the player and trying to put the music directly into it. Nothing is working.

Nope, it says there are no tracks on it when I turn it on. When I hook it up to my computer it says it has used 624mb of space, but will not allow me to put more music on it.

my mp3 player just does not connect to computers with internet i guess. when i plug it in it makes the noise signalling it's connected but when i get to the point where i "start sync" on windows media player it tells me that it does not detect my portable device. before that happens it pops up twice that thing where it say "send error report, don't send, or debug".i have tried them all and still the same thing happens. it pops up that the device is not plugged in before i even try to download music onto it. and yes, i do plug it in. i have done everything that the package and user manual and stuff says to do when these problems occur and still nothing. i tried the repair thing and all that did for me was delete the 85 songs i had on it!!!!! now ican't even download those songs back onto it. if anybody has the answer, spcifically the maufacturer, please let me know as soon as possible. thanx.

The only solution I have found for mine was looking up their firmware updates and thus far it has worked for me. I dont care how many times I post the link, I am happy to have fixed mine.

Downloading music to my MP3 player, how do I do it. I have the music on my computer and I move to the MP3 player but when I disconnect it does not display on my MP3 player

For transfers to Sansa Clip see page 11 of the pdf manual [page 9]:

When using the drag and drop method in Windows
music has to be dropped in the Music folder of the player.

Using Windows Media Player 11:

In Library or Sync mode:
1. Create a playlist e.g. "MyPlaylist"
2. Put music in the playlist
3. Save the playlist

In Sync mode and the player having connection:
4. Move the playlist e.g. "MyPlaylist" under / to the device
5. Start synchronizing with Start Sync
6. Wait until al files have been transferred:
a message appears when you can disconnect .

This thing does not work always says ok to disconnect

When the mp3 player is connected to the computer, the only message it will generally give you is "OK to Disconnect" - this is normal.

Once you disconnect the mp3 player from the computer, then you can find your music, listen to music, etc.

If you are getting the "OK to Disconnect" message when the mp3 player is already disconnected from the computer:

Reset the player first.

If that fails:
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

Make sure that your music service subscription is up to date. Even if your subscription is up to date, some audiobooks/music files require you to pay extra to play the file on your Mp3 player -it's a dirty little game they play.

When I try to drag and drop music onto my mp3 and error message come up that says that it cannot copy . . . :the device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected. I emailed tech support on...

Is your device connected directly to the PC, not thru a hub? Is it a laptop? Do you have Windows XP / SP 2? Do you have Windows Media Player 10 or higher?
