Question about Panasonic ES 8077S Electric Shaver

Panasonic 8077 shaver top fastener broken

One of the button-click fasteners no longer grips the shaver head (the other side works fine).
I could send away to Panasonic repair site in Texas but they will not give me an estimate of repair cost.
What's the best way to go to fix this?

  • rrpete1 Mar 28, 2009 seems to have most of the parts for this model but I don't have the part number for the broken plastic tab and in fact I am not sure what it is called. Tab, holder, clip, cap? Does anyone know the part number for this piece?

Unbelievable! I spoke with Panasonic and they told me that the button is called a foil frame release button and that it cannot be replaced. They obviously have a badly flawed design and are not prepared Their only solution is to buy an entire new shaver for which they will offer you a "generous" 10% discount. Some support! The take away lesson is don't buy Panasonic shavers period!

This may sound nutty. Please don't laugh. It works: attach a rubber band from the top "broken" corner of the shaver to the underside. Yup. Lousy design. Are you done laughing yet?

I have dropped my braun 8585 although in a bag. It is charged but just no longer works. I thought that taking the head off might reveal a broken connection but could not find a way further than removing...

To open the shaver body, you will first need to gently pry off the 'cap' on the bottom that surrounds the hole where the cord plugs in. Once removed the side grips will pull off revealing 4 screws. Remove screws to take off back cover and access insides. Inner parts simply lift out.

Driver door unlock

Hello, my name is Ben. I believe I can help you with this. There are two possibilities, a faulty latch or a broken fastener on the connecting rod inside the door. Since it still opens using the inside handle, I think you have a broken fastener. Not sure of the proper name, but I call this fastener a swing away fastener due to the fact you un-clip the open channel shaped end and swing the fastener away from the rod. I am sending you a picture of one. If you find a broken one inside your door, try to take one of the broken pieces to the parts store since these fasteners are color coded for position. Also, this web site should help you with getting the inside door panel off to do the repair. Any questions, just let me know, good luck with your repair.

I do not know how to take each one of the 3 heads out in order to clean it

Hi. The shaver heads are not removable like on older models, you'll have to grip the grips on each side of the head and swing the top open to clean.

Remington microscreen3 tct problem

I can only comment genericaly for this:

Most likely the internal drive shaft is defective. In some models there is a gear box. This may not be coupling correcty due to a failure. In any of these cases it will most likely need replacement parts to be reliable again. Your shaver should never fall apart!

You can call the company and enquire about where to send the shaver for service. Some of these companies have a flat rate fee for service. Look for your reciept to see if it is possibly under warranty. If the estimate for repair is too high, then you should consider a new shaver.

I would suggest for you to try getting a higher end type model. From personal experience and the research that I have done in the past, I found the Philips and the Panasonic to probably be the best shavers around at this time. You may pay a little more, but they are worth the few exra dollars for the performance and reliablity.

I have the same problem with my Braun 7570 as the Jan.8, 2008 writer about the 7526 or 7680 shaver. The blue button came off but the shaver still works

This button wears out or just fails with time, but is replaceable.

Braun 7526 Syncro Body Housing with Trimmer
$12.99, Fits Model: 7526, Type: 5493, Includes back case, front case with trimmer/switch, side grips and bottom 'plug',

To disassemble the 7000 Series Braun shaver.

Disassembly of the 7000 Braun shaver is basically the same as the 8000 series Braun shaver listed below. The 7000 is actually easier to disassemble as the plastic is much thicker and the bottom socket cover pops right off as there are less tabs and they are bigger.

To disassemble the 8000 Braun Series shaver.

Remove the plastic cover on the bottom that covers the corded socket. Be careful, there are a total of two tabs on the short sides and four very small tabs on the long sides. I usedmy fingernail to create a space big enough to insert the corner of a credit card in the center of the long side opposite the blue light indicator, then gently removed the cover. Using a screwdriver could damage the plastic.

The two sides then pop off, they only fit on their respective side when replacing. Don't lose the two small black seals on the top of each side piece.

There are a total of four screws holding the body together. Remove the screws, using the proper flat blade or torx screwdriver. The shaver will then split into. You can then remove the the Motor Drive Unit and the separate circuit board with the batteries.

This would also be a good time to clean the goo buildup from around the shaver head.

Assembly is the reverse of above. The Motor Unit will only fit in one way, there is a flat side and a angular side. Be sure the pin for the trimmer is placed in its proper hole, or it won't extend.
