Question about Panasonic ES 8077S Electric Shaver

1 Answer

Panasonic 8077 shaver top fastener broken

One of the button-click fasteners no longer grips the shaver head (the other side works fine).
I could send away to Panasonic repair site in Texas but they will not give me an estimate of repair cost.
What's the best way to go to fix this?

Partsstore.com seems to have most of the parts for this model but I don't have the part number for the broken plastic tab and in fact I am not sure what it is called. Tab, holder, clip, cap? Does anyone know the part number for this piece?

Unbelievable! I spoke with Panasonic and they told me that the button is called a foil frame release button and that it cannot be replaced. They obviously have a badly flawed design and are not prepared Their only solution is to buy an entire new shaver for which they will offer you a "generous" 10% discount. Some support! The take away lesson is don't buy Panasonic shavers period!

This may sound nutty. Please don't laugh. It works: attach a rubber band from the top "broken" corner of the shaver to the underside. Yup. Lousy design. Are you done laughing yet?

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

I am trying to replace the head light as in the manual, but there is only one screw and two button fasteners holding the dust cover on. If I cut the fasteners off what can I use to refasten the dust cover?...

The button fasteners you refer to need to be pryed up gently then they can be reused. I have a door panel removal tool that is shaped like a fork or a pair of side cutters usually works just dont squeeze to hard just pry upward. In the event they break you can pick them up at an auto parts store. Just bring as much of the broken one as you can so they can match up new one.

I have dropped my braun 8585 although in a bag. It is charged but just no longer works. I thought that taking the head off might reveal a broken connection but could not find a way further than removing...

To open the shaver body, you will first need to gently pry off the 'cap' on the bottom that surrounds the hole where the cord plugs in. Once removed the side grips will pull off revealing 4 screws. Remove screws to take off back cover and access insides. Inner parts simply lift out.

I do not know how to take each one of the 3 heads out in order to clean it

Hi. The shaver heads are not removable like on older models, you'll have to grip the grips on each side of the head and swing the top open to clean.

How to remove rechargeable battery for norelco 7864

hi minglim, welocme to the forum!
Replacing a Norelco Shaver Battery Things You'll Need:Torx screwdriver set Rechargeable Ni-Cd AA battery 1)Slide up the sideburns trimmer on the shaver .2)Try the various torx head screwdriver sizes to find the fit for the two screws holding the top of the back shaver cover on. Unscrew the two screws that are under the sideburns trimmer that hold the back of the shaver on. On some Norelco shavers, the back will now slide off if you apply downward pressure on the shaver's back. Other Norelco shavers have one or two torx screws on the base of the back cover on the shaver; if so, unscrew them also. Place the screws in a safe place. 3)Take the back cover off the shaver. Some shavers may have a strap fastening the battery down. Unfasten the strap if there is one. Take out the battery. 4)Replace the old battery with a new rechargeable Ni-Cd AA battery. Re-fasten the battery holding strap if there was one. 5)Replace the back shaver cover and re-screw in all the torx screws,

The stem on my food processor is broken. Help to remove old part

Hi-I have a DLC-7, it looks a lot like yours. On my machine the stem is removed by pulling straight up. It is held only by the friction of a knurled section of the shaft, no threads or other fasteners. You could grip it lightly sideways with a pliers or vise-grips and then use hammer head to tap upwards on the side of the pliers. Squeeze the shaft firmly enough to grip it adequately, but not so hard as to crush it.

CMB - Over the past month the Panasonic shaver would turn on with 3-4 tries, but now will not turn on at all – the on-off switch must be bad after only 7 months of wet use. Before sending in I found this diagram:

Disassembly: Remove bottom Phillips screw & end cap, pop off each plastic side with fingernails (reinstall them from top 1st), remove 4 screws, remove 2 clips, take top off. Remove battery case and the on-off little, white plastic lever fell out. Slide off the white plastic/metal on-off slider & clean contacts with knife … my bottom contact was black & top was clean.

Assembly: Reinstall on-off slider (white plastic with metal contacts) by sliding back in grooves -- hardest part - place the on-off plastic lever on the battery back unit – I tried to put it on the case and could not get it to stay on. Slide the battery pack back in with the plug prongs in the holes in the end being careful not to drop the on-off lever. Test shaver. Stuff battery wires inside case – screw 4 screws and add 2 clips on, then final screw in the end after cap placed on. Easy once I knew how to put the on-off lever on the battery side – that was tricky. Total time was about 1 hour – next time it will be about 15 minutes. Works great! jgg

Use that link to disassemble and clean the switch then put it back together.

All newer Panasonic Wet/Dry Shavers are probably the same.

Good Luck!

Cannot put blade assembly back together

Sounds strange, since I don't think that the HQ5 heads in the shaver have the pointy parts that other shaver heads have. If your comb has 2 pointy edges, make sure they are located correctly in the head housing - they will need to be located inwards, with the the spindle that the retaining bracket attaches to in the center of the the two pointy parts.

But apart from placing the combs in first, locating the cutters in then putting the retaining bracket in (which may be broken if it won't fasten properly) I'm not sure what you can do, other than calling your local Philips Service Centre,
