Question about Televison & Video
I have this sony tv. 4 years old. i have been having a very dim picture. i started shopping for a new tv and one of the sales man suggested it needed to be cleaned. he also suggested that i unplug the tv for ten mins. then take canned air and blow the fan out then take the bulb out and blow it off then plug it back in and i should notice a slightly better picture. well i did that and i think he just wanted to sell me a new tv. cuz now i have a tv that take a good 15-20 secs to boot then bout for 3 secs with noise then shut down to the standy by light blinking 4 times. and if course it right before my super bowl party. im a mechanic. im very good with small things. is this something i could repair myself? and what about the cleaning processes? please respond i need help. firstname.lastname@example.org

SOURCE: please help
That is the blink code for the lamp ballast. Here is the more complicated explanation from the service manual.
IC2301(pin11) detects the error of LCD Power C.B.A. and Lamp,
then indicates the error when an inner malfunction of LCD Power
C.B.A. occurs, the Lamp voltage becomes more than 130V or
less than 30V, Lamp current becomes more than 5A, or the Lamp is blown
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Sony KDF-50WE655 won't turn on.
if your TV blinks 10 times. Possible solution should be to check and replace on the G1 board Q1600 and Q1601 if shorted and R1614 and diode D1605 open.

Above is your user manual, below is your service and repair manual. http://www.fixdevice.com/smanuals/tv/sony/kdf60xs955.html
This may very well be a lamp problem, or it may be the "Driver" for the lamp, or indeed the Power Supply to that lamp, unfortunately one must troubleshoot these issues to isolate the actual problem, Please use these manuals, and you should soon be able to isolate and effect a repair.
