Question about Yamaha HTR-5560 Receiver

1 Answer

Will not turn on with the remote

I have a Yamaha HTR-5560. Recently my mother in law was babysitting and tried to turn the unit on. She pressed numerous buttons on the remote but could not get it to turn on. She's an idiot! Ever since then, the unit will not turn on with remote. It does turn on manually and all the other buttons work fine. I think she might have cleared a master code or something. I've been over the manual with a fine tooth comb but can't fix the problem.
Anybody???

That is a real problem, the remote is vital to the settup. Go to www.ebay.com Type: make and model you may get lucky, this is one of the few sites that sells old and the new products that you normally don't see.

Suddenly, I can only hear the sound faintly, even though it's turned up full volume on my Yamaha HTR 5560. What happened? I've played around everywhere with the converter now. Restore defaults anywhere?...

Have you checked the MUTE function?

NEVER turn the volume up more than half-way for any sound problem. Otherwise, if you suddenly find the switch that's out of position you could blow your speakers.

What converter?

What channels, what source(s)?

Yamaha HTR-5560 6.1 no video output

It appears that the composite video in/out is not working. I didn't have a TV with an S-video to test with. Since there were only two video devices for input, I routed their composite video output to an a/b switch. Works great, and sounds great.......

Yahama HTR-5560

I own this unit also and have found that it is very sensitive to speaker wire shorts. Please recheck all speaker connections to make sure you have no "stray wires" touching someplace to make a short.
