Question about Westinghouse WWS833ES Super Capacity Top Loading Washer w/ Precision Wash System

1 Answer

I just payed for a repairman to come out to find out why my washer quit washing. We don't know if it's the timer or a loose wire. Im hoping for the loose wire. However it was a total waste of money because the wire diagram was missing. Where can I find one of these for a White-Westinghouse model WWS833ES. He said if I can locate one TODAY, he'll come back out and won't charge me the service call fee again.

Go here:

Scroll down to the bottom of the left side under the "Select Diagram" tab and you'll find the "Wiring diagram" link. Click it for the diagram. You can then right-click on the diagram when it comes up and select "view image." That will show it to you in a single window so you can copy and print it.

It sounds like a problem with the agitator. Simply remove softener insert and just below that is a seal easily removed and then a 7/16'' bolt. The clutch mechanism between base and upper agitators is probably loose or broken.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

Stop working during a wash cycle, power was at the plug

ince the washer is stopping during the fill, wash and rinse cycles, it is possible that you have a failed timer. A loose wiring connection could also cause this problem. Before replacing the timer, I recommend that you unplug the washer and check the wiring connections on the timer for a loose wire. Check the wiring connections on the water level pressure switch as well.

The washing machine at my church stops in the middle of a cycle. When I "jiggle" the timer it starts again and works for a while and then stops again.

The timer probably has dirty/corroded/loose contacts or it has loose wire connections to it. Needs to be removed to assess.

More info, let me know.

My Whirlpool washer (model LA5578XTWO) starts washing and quits

DOES THE TIMER KEEP GOING WHEN THIS HAPPENS, IF THE TIMER STOPS IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. DOES THE WASHER DRAIN IF YOU TURN THE TIMER MANUALLY BY HAND IF SO THE TIMER IS WORKING TO THE END OF THE WASH CYCLE AND STOPS THE TIME IS BAD

Ultimate 2 whirlpool washer will go through the wash cycle then quit before it drains the water out or spins or rinses

SOUNDS TO ME LIKE EITHER THE TIMER HAS GONE BAD IN IT. MY LATE GRANDMOTHER HAD A WASHER THAT WOULD QUIT DURING THE CYCLE. OR IT COULD BE YOUR MOTOR OVERHEATING. CALL A REPAIRMAN AND SEE IF HE CAN FIX IT FOR YA. GOOD LUCK.

CHECK THE TIMER. I DON'T KNOW IF THAT IS WHAT IT IS, BUT IF IT IS YOUR TIMER, YOU NEED TO CALL A REPAIRMAN AND SEE IF HE CAN FIX IT FOR YA. HOW OLD IS YOUR WASHER?

Help with washer

yes it could be the timer, next time it happens jiggle the timer knob and see if does anything, if it does then you know it is the timer. if it doesn't then it may be something loose in the control panel like the wire harness on the timer may not be getting good contact.

Was the water coming from the drain line, or the washer? A timer switch wouldn't cause the drain line to overflow. If the timer were defective, the washer would not advance properly, get stuck on a cycle, or not run at all. I may be wrong, but I haven't seen a timer that causes an overflow. The water level is controlled by a pressure switch that shuts the water inlet valves off after the water reaches the reqiuired level. If you click on the link below, I have a posting explaining the minimum requirements for washing machine installations. See if your installation meets these basic requirements.

http://www.fixya.com/support/r389335-basic_washer_installation_tips

The drain line needs to be sufficient enough to allow 17 gallons per minute of water to drain properly. You might still have a slow drain issue somewhere further down the line causing the drain to back up. In addition, if the drain hose was fitting tightly in the standpipe, this tells me that the diameter of the pipe may also be too small. this may also contribute to slow drain problems.

Please read the post and let me know what you decide. I don't think the appliance repairman is in order, maybe a plumber(?). I hope this helps you. Post back if you have further questions/concerns.
