Here's your problem: there is no problem. Unless you can't access it from the computer like you do a normal thumb drive, this is normal. It doesn't let you listen to music while plugged into the computer. Sorry. It should work if you remove it from your computer correctly (Safely Remove).

I shut down the computer while charging my mp3

Try plugging in the USB connection again. If that doesn't work, unplug it and then press and hold the on button for ten seconds.

I have a mmp8567 and it is giving me Boot Error Shutting down

My MMP8567 screen read ''boot error shutting down''.

Update the firmware. Download directly from Memorex site, Support section.

Everytime I plugged it in to the computer the computer would find it but then it would disappear almost immediately.
I downloaded the Updater program from Memorex but it couldn't find the player.
The directions from Memorex said ''Hold down the play button and plug in usb cable.'' Another set of Memorex directions said, ''Hold down the power button and plug in usb cable.'' Neither worked for me.

SOLUTION: I finally held down the LOCK/UNLOCK button and plugged in the usb cable. My computer found the player immediately and a software driver window popped up asking for a driver. I let windows search the internet and it found and installed the driver. The driver it was looking for was: ''player recover device class driver''

After windows confirmed it recognized my mp3 player I started up the Firmware update program and was able to update the player.

I tried to be clear and detailed. Good Luck ;-)

RCA MP3 TH1100A Charge Problem

Get the firmware upgrade first. If that fails, Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

If that fails, the Mp3 player has a hardware issue and needs to be replaced - call RCA.

Formatting the device will not solve the boot error you are getting..thats a firmware problem..get the firmware update and that should solve the problem you are having..

Hey

It is easier to reformat the mp3 player. When the mp3 is plugged in to the PC, go to my computer, the double click the mp3 player there. You will see internal storage, right click that and click format. You will lose all the stuff on the mp3 player.
