Emachine E528 Laptop is saying a disk read error occured push ctrl+alt+delete an it will restart

The error that you are getting indicates that the system is not able to detect the Hard Drive. We would need to confirm if the Hard Drive is detected in the system BIOS or not. For that we would need to turn off the computer. Turn on the computer and start hitting F2 key to reach BIOS. On the First page of BIOS it should show you the Hard Disk Drive with name and Number. If it shows all drives and none or not detected then it means the hard drive is not getting detected by the system. If you can open the Laptop and reach the Hard Disk Drive you can try to re-seat it to see if it gets detected. If it still remains undetected, Its time to replace the Hard Disk Drive.

Please try the above steps and get back for any further assistance or clarification

My E725 won't turn on. Battery full. Was restaring it after uploading wireless softwre. Took forever to shut down.

I take it you are talking about laptop. Try to turn it on with adapter, there may be problems with battery itself. If it doesnt work and laptop doesnt turn on as in nothing happens, no sound, no light at all and so on, you need to use technical support. It is VERY likely you can't handle repairing it on your own. Need to open it up and search for hardware problems.

Cd rom is not read any cd

bad optical disk drive or bad connection restart your computer open bios and see if its showing your disk drive there... if not then you could turn it off remove the drive turn on the machine let it boot then shut it down and restart it if it still doesnt show up you need a new drive... if it does show up and still not reading cd's or if it was there all along you could have a bad odd lens which i would say just replace your cdrom drive

How to reboot computer

hi
  • Decide what kind of reboot you are going to do. A soft reboot is performed the way you are “supposed” to do it. For a soft Windows reboot, go to the Start menu and select “Shut Down” or “Restart.” The computer will then shut itself down. Clicking “Restart” makes it boot up without further intervention from you.
  • Step 2 Perform a hard reboot by pushing the computer’s power button and holding it until the computer shuts down. Wait 45 seconds and restart the computer by pushing the power button again. You may have to start up in safe mode, but that also allows you the chance to restart properly or work on programs in a safer way. This method may cause you to lose data or mess up the operation of some of your programs. But it may be the only option if your computer's hard drive is frozen.
  • Step 3 Power down all of the computer's components. Shut off all of the peripherals you have attached to your computer, and disconnect the cables. Then, plug all of the peripherals back in, and restart your computer. This can often solve problems with your hard drive.
  • Step 4 Purchase and install a program such as Drive Reboot Restore PC 6.0 that streamlines the hard drive reboot process. These applications help prevent the problems that can develop after repeated computer use. They also ensure that your hard drive maintains the configuration you want each time you turn it on.
  • Step 5 Investigate what the problem may be with your hard drive. Because of its delicate nature, your hard drive can very easily be thrown off.

Compaq Presario S3040SE PC Desktop was working fine. when i turned it on next day screen says operating system not found. restart. now monitor wont kick on and hard drive light doesnt come on. only power...

Normaly when you get the error that the operating system cant be found, it is a indication that the hardrive has either gone bad, or somehow some of the system files got deleted. I would say though since the hard drive light wont come on it could be the hardrive has shut down completely. But you still should see the company image of your computer when you start it up, (the bios screen)

A bad hardrive would be my first guess, 2nd problem if its not your harddrive would be a new power supply.
