Question about Toshiba 46HM95 46" HDTV

Toshiba 44NHM84 won't turn on

After having this tv for a little over a year in my bedroom and was used sparingly, it would try to turn on, making a buzzing noise twice about 5 seconds apart and then shutting off. I did the "fonzie bang" and it worked fine. I left the set on for 6 months until it happened again. The bang didn't work this time. Thanks for your help.

Usualy these problems are due to solder evaporating under the heat of the component. If you are a competent technician,by opening the tv set and by looking closely on the solder part of the board,
you should see a few that are not as shiny as the other, or look like a donut around the pin.these should be redone.those failiure are around the components that heat up:voltage reg,h-v reg and the
resistor around them.
good luck

TV will not turn on

Average life on a OEM or original lamp is 2000 hours---about 2 years depending on how much you use the set---only real way to know if lamp is the problem (other than looking to see it is not shattered inside) is to replace it---either it is or is not the problem.

I have a Toshiba model 44NHM84 DLP projection TV that will either attempt to power on but then shuts down or when it has powered on there is good sound but no picture.

You will probably find, cahnging the lamp and resetting the timer will fix this problem.
Contact Toshiba for more information if you need to.

My picture is foggy is there coolant that needs to be replaced in a toshiba 44nhm84

This type of TV doesn't use coolant. I would suggest to clean the mirror that reflects the image from the optical engine to the screen before replacing the lamp.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

How to replace Power Supply in Toshiba 44NHM84 44" TV

Since this is a DLP type set, there is a lamp and ballast involved. When the set shuts down, are there any indicator lights on the front? If so, check the owner's manual for an explanation of their meaning. Typically, the lamp can cause this or the ballast. If either of those are the problem, usually the lights on the front panel will indicate it.

Keep us posted.

Shadow down right side of screen on a toshiba 44NHM84 44" DLP television

shadows at the bottom of the screen sound like moisture that was "wicked up" between the screen layers and dryed out leaving a stain. DO NOT get these screens wet, use nothing but a damp soft cloth; just a few drops of water running down the screen can cause a fairly large stain. Some people have suggested that they may be professionally cleaned, but the risk of damage is too great on the user level.
