I took mine back to the Bose store and they gave me credit on my Wave that was about ten years old toward a new CD wave radio. I would recommend taking it to the Bose store and see what they can do for you.

Bose radio will not turn on

You didn't mention which model of the Wave Radio you have but since you have a 9V battery it narrows it down to a couple of models. You might want to check the Q4 transistor (2SC3792) for a short on the two outide pins. With the power disconnected, measure with a multimeter the resistance between the two outside pins of the Q4 transistor. If you measure anything between 0-3 ohms it is shorted. Replace this part with a similar part or you could replace it with the new Bose recommended part - 2SD438F-MP-E but it is very hard to obtain. I have used an 2SC2655 instead and had no problems so far with the radio. This radio also came in totally dead with no display nor the radio working.

Replace the 3 AA batteries that maintain memory & backup alarm function. That just may do the trick.

I have a very old Bose clock radio (model AWR1-1W) that has suddenly deceided to light up every single character on the display solidly. Unpluging and plugging it back in does not help. Any ideas?!?...

Hey Pete! Did you take out the 9V battery as well and let power down to re-set? Benimur from JustAnswer suggested: Your described problem could either be a system glitch, hardware fault.
If it were a glitch, unplug the unit for an extended period of time to force the Bose to reset and revert to factory defaults. This would also require removal of the 9 volts battery. Should this be not corrective, then it would seem that the logic circuitry of the Bose radio is faulty. The logic circuitry includes the micro processor that handles all the controls and the displays. Unfortunately, not a user doable repair.

My Bose Wave radio/cd players digital clock has stopped working. Please help! It will work for a few seconds when I push one of the buttons. Then it will not show the time.

Hey there...All you have to do is press the CD MODE button while you press the on/off button and it will fix it. This happened to me as well and I thought that I was going crazy...I changed the 9 volt battery but finally got it to work.

My 10 year old Bose wave radio quit working.

There's a line fuse inside the radio, mounted on a PC board. CAUTION: disconnect the set from power before opening the case or poking around inside. The fuse could be bad, but these sets are notorious for losing the power transformer. If the fuse is ok then you are looking at a $100 repair fee from Bose. You might want to check out the new HD radios -- better sound, MUCH lower price.
