Still won't burn

OK...I need help still...I have a Matshita ujda360 burner. I loaded Roxio burn software and it still doesn't work. I bought a similar computer for my daughter that has NERO burn. This seemed to work better so I bought a copy and loaded it on my computer. I am still having problems burning...it gives me an error for "fixation". I am not sure what this is or how to correct it. If there is anyone out there that can help...I am ready to chuck this thing!

Try this.

Step 1: Start Registry Editor

Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK. Registry Editor starts.

Step 2: Delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry entries.

1. In Registry Editor, expand My Computer, and then expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

2.Expand SYSTEM, and then expand CurrentControlSet.

3.Expand Control, and then expand Class.

4.Under Class, click
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.

5.In the right pane (topic area), right click and delete UpperFilters and LowerFilters.

This clears the filters some CD writing software adds to your machine that could cause your CD drive to malfunction.

Hi There

I understand your problem, You said that your daughter using NERO and you tried installing NERO but it didn't worked. Did u checked what kind of burner is she using.Also you can try enabling the IMAPI CD BURNING services in SERVICES.MSC by going into start-run.Also make sure the ROXIO needs to be completely uninstalled inyour machine... All the best

What is the style of your burner? Is it by usb or just connect directly to the PC. I was a dell employee. This system has a problem that the mother board could not load many devices if its USB ports are fully occupied. Please have a check. If it is a internal one. Please check the cables inside of the PC chassis. If you need any help, please let me know.

Ensure that you have XP Service pack 2 ( If PC has Windows XP on it )

Most of the times this problem will be related to the burner rather than the software. Arrange to get it repaired from a good service engineer or replace it if possible.
