I have a 2001 Ford Focus. Recently all the dials in the dashboard have been moving around completely and back again several times. I can some kind of static or electrical sound throughout the car. The bell signaling that the door is open goes off at anytime, even while driving. The engine and battery light are on at the same time. Now I need a jump everytime I start the car. Does anyone what's this problem? Is it just the battery?
My 2001 Focus has problems only with the speedometer. I turn the car on the and the needle starts going all around the dial. Going to 140 back to zero and back. It happens when I'm getting up to speed in each gear, but if I maintain constant light pressure on the gas it's ok. While the speedometer needle is flipping back and forth, the car sort of jumps forward, like a new driver on a stick shiftMy 2001 Focus has problems only with the speedometer. Problems like this are very hard to diagnose. Call out a local auto-electrician. You need someone with a pro grade scan tool and access to wiring schematics and the knowledge to use both.
You need to be certain that the intake manifold is completely free of parts/remnants of the "old" valve seat that shattered. If you do not clean and blow out the intake manifold with compressed air before installing in on the new head, chunks of the old seat can and likely will find their way back into the combustion chamber.
I'd definitely check battery and battery cables. In the past, I had a vehicle where the lights at night would brighten and dim a little on their own, drove me crazy, at the moment, I can't remember if battery or battery cables, one or the other. Just my opinion.
I would check your battery connections, the cable may be faulty, if the gauges go crazy as your trying to start, then battery voltage is low to barely allowable. heat, cold, and rain are all factors. Good luck
a loose or damaged wire is causing a short circuit!
you ned to get it tested & rectified by a auto electrician ASAP!
as wiring gets very hot & can destroy your vehicle! {catch fire]
re-charge the battery to full then disconnect it then take the face cover off of the dials then fildle with the dials and make sure its not bent and see if it moves by your hand pushin it over if it does then just pull the pointer on the dial away from the dial itself then put the face cover back on the dials and they should work if not go to this page and consider buying it!!!!
just bought a 2001 FF its doing the same thing..
This is what I have found
