I have a laptop HP pavillion dv6000 with Nvidia 8600 M GS videocard. When I tried to connect it to TV with Svideo cable it is not Identifying the TV as second monitor.

Greetings,

You need to configure the nvidia software for dual monitor mode. And refer the manual of the laptop to find the hotkey to enable external display device. If you provide the exact model number of the laptop I will be able to provide much information to you.

Revert back for clarifications.

Warm Regards,

Card only works with Windows generic drivers. NVidia's go crazy.

is this the driver you downloaded?
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71_2.html
if not try that one.
if indeed that is the one you tried then try this one instead.
although this is a beta driver it might work.
http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_downloads_winxp_2k_32bit_93.81.html
those are the only 2 drivers i can find for this series on windows xp.
you could also try re-installing direct-x.

Multiple monitor problem

1: First check wether your graphics card is able to support 2 monitors. Not all built-in ones can do that.
2: If you re sure it should be able to work, try restarting the pc after you connect the monitor, it should open a popup and ask what you want to do.
3: If not try updating your drivers and repeat step 2.

As for the tv as a monitor, most digital tv's are able to do that, yes.

I hope this helps,
Yannick
