My utough 8010 wont let me format any sdhc cards -

All are saying card error - I have tried 3 different cards that I can see photots on from my pc so I think that the cards are fine - any ideas? I do have stuff on the camera's internal memory - do I need to delete it before using a card?

Try to download the photos on your computer from the card then try to format the card then put it back into your computer. then send your photos that are in your camera internal and send it to your card then download the pics on computer from card then try to put the card back in your camera. if the error still comes back you may have to use a smaller card with less like if you have a 4 g card try using a 2g .

New camera, Canon PowerShot A2300, I have not used it, yet. Just placed the new battery in after I charged it, and I put in the San Disk 8GB SDHC Card, and the camera says "memory card error". I ca

Normally, you can only insert an SD card one way. Try a different SD card or check to see if the SD card you're using has the "write protect" switch on. If that's not the issue try formatting the card in your PC and then format it in the camera.

I bought a tevion 4 GB SDHC card but it wont work in my finepix a820 camera

Sorry, but the A820 was designed before the newer SDHC format card came out. Although it looks exactly the same as a standard SD card, the format its uses is very different. Sorry, but there's just no way that you can make an SDHC card work with your camera. You'll need to use a standard SD card only, those 2GB or less. Fortunately, 2GB standard SD cards are relatively inexpensive these days, as you can see from this link from Amazon.

For others reading with similar problems, but different cameras, there are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Other causes include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

I just got a Polaroid DVF-720 digital camcorder and I got a SanDisk 8GB SDHC card but it will not format it says format error Manual says it will handle up to 32GB SDHC card

Are you sure the SD card is working properly? Try using a card reader and format it on the PC.
Also, make sure the Lock switch is flipped to the "unlocked" state.

My olympus 8010 will not accept my memory card. Whenever it turns on it says it want to format the card and when I try to format it it says card error. Internal memory works fine. I can't do anything...

Remove your card and place it in the carrd reader of your PC. Now try to format and clean off the files. If it is not detected clean contacts and try if not the card can be defective.

Why did printer cause my computer to close when I inserted a 4GB sdhc card into it?

Did you have another card in, the unit can only handle one card at a time.

What do you mean by close, did it blue screen, did windows restart, did it white screen, was there an error code, close does not explain what happened.

The printer can handle 6 different types of cards, one thing, its says
SD Cards, now there is a difference between SD and SDHC, some devices can not read SDHC, high captivity is a different format then a SD card. now maybe the printer can't read the card, but I have no clue why windows would shut own or do anything, because windows can handle any card.

Restart both, and make sure there are no cards in it then try the SDHC card again and post exactly what happens, and errors, if it says anything, this will help you getting your problem solved.

Message: Memory Card Error - Memory Card Parameter Error on 4gb SDHC card

I have been rummaging around trying to find two solutions: 1) to get my Toshiba Satellite card reader to read SDHC cards and 2) to get my desktop USB ports to read SDHC cards. While MS offers a hotfix for XP, it does not always work because of the different Chip Sets in computers. I have also read where posters say that the SDHC card works in the compter NOW, but NOW will not work in the camera... and the SDHC card NOW works in the camera but will NOT work in the computer.... I found a tekkie article that may help clear the air... SDHC cards are formatted in Fat32x (NOTICE the "x") and SD cards are formatted in Fat32 (no 'x') and these compatibility problems arise when the user unwittingly or unknowingly RE-formats the SDHC card, either when it is put in the computer and won't read or when it is put in the camera and won't read... but just don't bother to mention that THAT is what they did upon inserting the card and only proceeded to complain about an apparent incompatibility. The camera or computer might even mislead you asking if you want to format the card..... but all is not lost. The Panasonic site gives a program AND a pdf instruction book on How To ReFormat an SD or SDHC card specifying the proper Fat32x or Fat32 format. Hope this helps.

Samsung S630 Digital Camera, Card Error and Format Error

you have several options:

1. see in the specification details of your camera what memory card is compatible for camera. for S630 it is SDHC/MMC/SD card (Up to 4GB Guaranteed). see if you're using memory card within this capacity and type. If you're using a different memory card type and capacity, try to use memorycard that is compatible with your camera.

2. try to use memory card to other devcie like cameras, cellphones and other devices and if it still has error problem, your card may be the one defective. use other cards.

3. try to take pictures without using memory card. use only the internal memory of camera. if camera still display this error meassage, camera needs service.

hope these options solve one of your problems. c",)

Message: Memory Card Error - Memory Card Parameter Error on 4gb SDHC card

I recently bought a DMC-TZ3 and have been researching memory cards. Several sites sell cards with the camera and list the card type. I would suggest buying one of these cards. Any cards larger than 2gb must be SDHC type SD cards. There appear to different types of SDHC cards, 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0. Check out Wikipedia.org for a description. 2.0 cards are not compatable for devices developed prior to 2.0 so that may be the reason for the camera problem. So far I haven't seen anything that states what type SDHC card the camera requires. I found a computer memory site that that sells memory that they say will work. There may be others.
